Hey Kat! Jep, that's me....
But theres more of us around than I first thought.... check out the TT rankings Fuji GT with the F40, there's at least six SA guys (or Ladys?) posted. Funny enough all the times are posted within a few days, I think in October last ear or so. GUYS, WHERE ARE YOU NOW???
Giving the OZ boys hell is easier sayd than done, though, competion is tuff but thus fun. I need to "learn" online racing still. I'm doing okayish in some of the TTs, but racing against others who are not KIs is a different story, and sometimes theres lag coming on top of it (3G is fine but sucks for gaming I think). But nevertheless I had huge fun yesterday and just hope I didnt cause too much chaos ;-). Hope to see you soon on the track!
 
Yeah @Ren831, 3G is gonna suck for gaming. Best is a dsl line with a network plug straight into the PS3, like Telkom adsl.

Well Bud, not sure if I'll continue online racing. I just got a bunch of people upset with me because of punting. Problem is I was only aware of one incident that I "witnessed" where I spun somebody by tailgating him into a bend, but in the chat after that race it seems I took out half the field... You know, I hate boyracers myself and did enjoy the superb competitiveness of the guys out there. But this bloody 3G will get me banned and hated everywhere, so I might return to TT until I get DSL. By the way: did you hear about the fiberglass cable they are putting in this winter? That should end Telkoms rediculous rates.

I don't know what a fast lap is with the Honda, like I said I haven't driven it.;) What I meant was that a 1'52.1 sounds acceptable given you were in a Honda NSX, just about any other car and that would be blisteringly quick.;)

Yeah i've seen it when the car moves around like that knocking everyone around because of a weak connection.Get the dsl man:tup:
Theres always rumours of faster line speed and lower prices etc. but i'll believe it when i see it.:sly:

I'm using the ' do broadband one' package which is R199pm for 1 gig. It's enough for my gaming but if you want more it's R299 for 2 gig.

Hmmm, that's interesting. But I'll write my write my last comment/question to this in this thread, because it's probably not the right platform to discuss internet connection possibilities :sly: : I know there's plenty of DSL offers (beginneing at R39/month and similar bollocks, the catch is these don't mention the crazy R400+ Telkom charges for line rental. Is your R199 all inclusive?! How do you get past telkom and are you bound to any contract (24 month etc)? You can write me a PM, but maybe a thread for us poor Africans and our pathetic internet solutions would be worth a thought? :sly:

Anybody up for some racing over the next hours? I've got a slammin' new car to test against non-NSX-Evoras and I'm eager to roll it onto the tarmac with some other cars to see how she behaves on the road under race conditions.:sly:
 
Cheers mate, that was a good couple of races this afternoon.

Although it seems if it isn't one of us (AUS) 'Hosting', that the lag tends to be a little worse ...I don't know !! do you find that yourself..? But all in all still very close and intense battles on the track lag or not.

Question; "Does it make any difference to the quality of our connections if the 'Host' of the race is in the same country,timezone,or using a differing version of the game, as I use a PAL/disc, or not"...??????:dunce:
 
That first race when you showed up nicko (where it was just the 3 of us so there wasn't any lag or punters to deal with) the racing was quite possibly the best I've ever seen! A nose to tail freight train for 3-4 straight laps where 1st and 3rd were rarely split by more than a second. I thought for sure I wouldn't be able to make a move from where I was, the racing was so intense, and then I got that move up the inside of you at the right hander after the esses and then slipstreamed past PAPA and held 1st until the finish!:D Seriously, when there wasn't a European Clio in the race the racing was awesome today, thanks guys.👍

Edit: @ PAPA, the quality is greatly improved if the host has a good connection or is from your country (or one nearby eg. NZ). Since there aren't any World Events right now, we only vs others with PAL discs anyway.
 
Mmmmm, double-post-alicious.

Will anyone be racing this event tonight? mad94d and I tried just earlier but with just the 2 of us around we couldn't get in a race together as our connections suck.:dunce:
