And sure you could be uptight about it, but the most striking humour has always been offensive.

But the corollary is not true - being blatantly offensive does not always make something strikingly humourous. Offensive humour is funny if it offends by striking at the root of a ludicrous but commonly-held idea. This is NOT one of those cases. It was simply not funny, and it was simply offensive for the sake of being offensive.

For the record, I'm neither a Republican or a Democrat, so my reaction was not based on support for Ms. Palin as a politician. It was based on the fact that the picture was offensive with no redeeming humour or intelligence.

How can you say that something is not funny? Funny is something that you laugh about, and I sure as hell laughed about that pic. What you find funny is personal. I still respect that it was removed though.

Maybe not to you. I personally don't think that the jackass movies are funny but the vast majority of the U.S. dissagrees with me.

Count me in as a not-the-vast-majority, then. I think they are beyond stupid.

And not the good stupid, either.

Because making fun of mentally disabled infants is never funny, nor is using said infant to make fun of the parents.

 That's great.

5 Second Clips of Silence.

The picture is a little too small to be able to read the text well.

From,
Chris.

Well, he does have the song title listed incorrectly.

If you owned that CD you would get the joke.

It is track 17, called "The Ten Coolest Things About New Jersey" It is roughly ten seconds of silence.

Whatever site that is (Amazon Retailer?) is selling the singles on MP3 and is actually attempting to sell that track.

Haha basically that is Amazon, and it's the Bloodhound Gang CD "Hooray for Boobies", and they are basically selling clips of "non-musical silence" for 99 cents each. The reason it's small is because I had to zoom out to fit them all on screen.

Gotcha covered.

Thanks! I love how they do this for CD's with silence before the bonus song, it's like who would want to buy silence?

Except it isn't a gap before a bonus song, it is an actual track listed on the CD itself.

It's Bloodhound Gang humor for you. If you listened to their CDs it would make more sense.

What track though? On Amazon it shows all those silence clips, then "ghost track", yet on other sites it shows Along Comes Mary as the last song. So the "ghost track" must be a bonus song (especially since the silence clips don't add up to the time of the "ghost track"). Oh and I have listened to alot of their songs so I know what their humor is like.

I own the CD. There is no hidden song. The blank track (#17) is officially called "The Ten Coolest Things about New Jersey" It is blank, hence the joke. The last track (#18) is "Along Comes Mary."

And by listen I don't mean individual songs, I mean the CD straight through. If you only listen to songs you miss things like Jimmy's call to his mom asking her for a word that rhymes with vagina or Chasey Lain's response to his song "The Ballad of Chasey Lain," or Jimmy explaining how he sings like an amputee.

EDIT: Unless Amazon is hinting at this:
The final song, "Along Comes Mary," was never intended to be on the album, but Geffen insisted the band include it. Very rare early promo versions of the album exclude the track.

So why should I by 4 seconds for the same price as 5? Is it better silence? Quieter, somehow? :dunce:
