We had something simular to that in a local park (stairs beside a slide that went down a huge hill). Turned out my old sled would fit perfectly into the slide in the winter, so we'd take the hockey rink hose and flood it and turn it into a icey death slide for my sled. If you didn't build a snow ramp to help land, you'd nose dive at the end and eat a pile of snow or sled. So awesome.

Not sure what happened, but I heard a kid got hurt on it a couple of years later and the city removed the slide.

We already have countdown timers. They're on the ped crosswalk signals.

But that's only on so many. The majority are nothing more than flashing hands.

Regardless, I just don't see the point in it, not to mention the amount of money that would be needed to replace current, perfectly fine, traffic lights.

I know this was 2 pages ago, but bear with me. I already see a problem. If it does the countdown during the transition to green-red light but then also countdowns the red-green transition, some people might just keep driving on during the countdown thinking, "Countdown? Must be for green" when in reality it will turn into a red light. Or the other way around, "Countdown? Must be for red" and will stop the car while other cars keep going resulting in a crash.

Figure it this was. The red could count down and give us green. Oh my legit stop light to stop light racing. LoL Yellow count down is to give you the answer of punching it or slamming the brakes. LoL

That's not what it says:

Countdown number, 3-2-1, appears while yellow light's turn on. Warning people to stop or ready to go.

So, anyone seeing a yellow is being warned to either stop to go, so it obviously happens in red-to-green ("ready to go go") or green-to-red ("to stop")....

It's a stupid idea, never-the-less.
