*Famine does Trevor Horn/Buggles video (MTV), Art of Noise/band without a face, best new black act despite being white monologue again*

I'll quote it instead:

The Buggles were Trevor Horn. They were his attempt to make a faceless group. Sadly, they wanted a music video for it, so they (directed by Russell Mulcahy - later to direct Highlander and Highlander II, attempting to Alan Smithee the second) knocked one up of him dicking about in half an hour and it was the first video ever shown on MTV.

Trevor Horn tried again with the faceless group and came up with the Art of Noise (along with Anne Dudley, JJ and Gary Langan). The Art of Noise were modestly successful and probably still my favourite group of ever and had collaborative hits with Tom Jones (Kiss), Duane Eddy (Peter Gunn), the Mahotella Queens (Yebo!) and Max Headroom (Paranoimia) - as well as bizarrely penning the theme to the Krypton Factor and the Dragnet movie.

However, more bizarrely than that, the faceless and all-white group were once (according to Anne Dudley) voted the US's second best new black act...

Really off-topic question Famine, but did 'Art of noise' ever sample 'Tom Tom club's' "Genius of love" song? iv'e searched the webz but can't find evidence though i'm convinced i remember hearing an 'Art of noise' tune with that sample back in the day.

[EDIT] I'm confusing myself.. it turns out it was 'X-Clan' that sampled both that and 'Art of noise' "Beatbox", so doesn't matter.

Staying on topic:  at the inflatable unicorn hat for cats a few pages back.
& the Sauron gold ring.

Badger means that it wasn't a huge deal because Russia now has Europe by the balls. Plenty of profit to be made.

That wasn't my point.

My point was the Soviets went on to hate America and thus would not have been pleased that they had given them all that wealth whether they were rich themselves or not.
