Ok, so I've had my G25 for 2 years now and prologue since it was released and i've played fine with shifter and clutch perfectly.
Although i've noticed this before thought i'd finally ask if there's anything that can be done or if it's just how prologue is.

The pedals seem to have some serious deadzones, throttle you get nothing then about 10/15% in one go. And the clutch when fully in and then releasing in an attempt to bite gives you nothing at all until the last second when it unloads everything.
Compared to Live for speed on PC, (which is perfect clutch wise) it's just horrible, and makes trying to launch like real life pretty difficult...

Welcome to one of the problems with GT5p. GT4 was super-twitchy too (very sensitive throttle and brakes).

I don't know why this is - most racing sims (and even racing games) have a sensitivity adjustment for all your pedals, your steering, everything... But not GT5p. I'm certainly hoping that they have this feature in place for the final release, trying to control your brakes, throttle, or clutch when you have to do it with a small percentage of the pedal travel is just a pain. (I gave up on the clutch for now, I've driven way too many cars with real clutches to be able to ever adjust to the way the clutch works in GT5p).

I do not own a G25, I'm still using my very first DFP …

In my case it helped a lot to spray a bit of WD-40

straight into the potentiometers. Ever since they work like new again.

Any G25 owners that might want to comment on that?

Thanks for the tip, but I think the problem in this case is that we have pedals which work just fine in everything else, but are far to sensitive in GT5p (especially the clutch, which is basically just an on/off switch).

True, but you also have to realize that we can't install the software / firmware to our PS3. If that were the case, please don't quote me on this because I could be wrong. Then there should be some type of adjustments in the menu of the software. I guess PC sim. racers can add to this to confirm or not if you can adjust pedal sensitivity.

Ah, I think a bit of a language barrier here, but I think I get it.

Yes, on a PC you can adjust a lot of the aspects of these wheels through the software control panel for the device. And then you can adjust it in the games also.

But, on console games like we have, the sensitivity adjustment needs to be included directly in the game, and while many less prominent products nicely include this feature (Ferrari Challenge, NFS Shift), GT5p does not include this feature (nor did GT4). That's where the problem is, and this is probably why the initial poster is having such a hard time with the G25 clutch in GT5p. If there was just an adjustment included in GT5p (as it should be), then the problem would be immediately solved.

Correct 👍 I am also having trouble with my G27, trying to heel and toe and either I am doing it way too fast and it gets thrown into Neutral or I do it really slow and I lose a lot of time.

But at the same time, wouldnt it be possible for a firmware update from Sony for the XMB to then include a sensitivity adjustment in Accessory Settings or whatever? Kinda like you can adjust sensitive settings on things like a Headset connected with console. Parker

The pedals are fine it's nothing to do with the wheel, just the fact that gt5p has massive deadzones, it is almost impossible to launch as you would in a real car.

Main thing that annoys me is the fact that, say you launch flat out, the car wheelspins in 1st, you shift into 2nd to kill that and it won't let you. You have to let it spin fully until it's done and on limiter then change. I hate that.

I can heel toe downshift with it that's fine.
