FYI: The Real Identity of the F1's

This info was taken from www.gameimporterz.com

Thanks to GTexpert for this great information

F090/S =
F for Formula car.
0 is the number of cylinders the engine has.
90 is the year the car contested the FIA F1 championship.
S is for Senna. The man who drove the car that year.
6 in place of the 0 on the other cars stands for 6, as they were 6 cylinder engines that year.
The 6 cylinder cars are turbo, while the 10 cylinder cars are naturally aspirated.

Now, their real-life counter parts.

F686/M - 1986 Ferrari, Nigel Mansell
F687/S - 1987 Lotus-Honda 99T, Ayrton Senna
F688/S - 1988 Mclaren-Honda MP4/4, Ayrton Senna
F090/S - 1990 Mclaren-Honda MP4/5B, Ayrton Senna
F094/H - 1994 Williams-Renault FW16, Damon Hill
F094/S - 1994 Williams-Renault FW16, Ayrton Senna

I imagine the F094/S will be the hardest to get. That is the last F1 car Ayrton Senna drove. He was killed in it at Imola like 15 or so laps into the race. All in all, I think it's a great tribute to the greatest race car driver that ever lived. Thanks Mr. Yamauchi.

F686/S - 1986 Lotus-Renault 98T, Ayrton Senna = Polyphony002

F094/S - 1994 Williams-Renault FW16, Ayrton Senna = Polyphony001

I think..

Problem is that Polyphony 001 runs a high nose:

There are no hogh nose F1's in the US version.

I dont know why everyone likes the F094/S F1 so much. My favourite one is the F686/M I can beat any lap time of my F094/S with my F686/M

Isn't there a car that is the Nigel Mansel Ferrari ?... I thought i read somewhere one of the F1s was Mansell Ferrari.

Anyhoo about the High Nose one... sure that S isn't for Shumacher.... as the Benneton Team ran with High noses that year I think... back when they had the yellow and green paint scheme.

Actually, I think the F094/s is the easiest to get, all you have to do is win the Polyphony Cup, then use the save/load trick to get it everytime. Of course finishing that series takes some time, but it's reliable.

Hey, just so you know, I am not responsible for this info, but I noticed that they called one of the cars F686/S when it isnt in the game! There is only an F686/M!!! Which is the Nigell Mansell Ferrari!!! Even I know that!..

I think the F686/M is the Nigel Mansell Ferrari

F090/S - 1990 Mclaren-Honda MP4/5B, Ayrton Senna

i've heard of that before, but all the other ones are new to me.
cool.

I just made the F687/S handle like the F094/S by mimicking its suspension setup on the F687/S! I can hardly tell them apart. I also mimicked the F094/S' Suspension settings for my RX-7 LM and it handles like a dream, I think the secret is the rear toe angle of -3.0

Hehe, same here.... i got 3000+ miles on it, i think i went a lil overboard with drivin it but, i just won another in super speedway enduro, my old one is black my new is black and orange with 0.0 mi on it.

First off there are no cars with 0 cylinders..the 90/s, 94/h, and 94/s have 10 cylinders.

Mansell drove for Williams in 1986

Abscent: 001 has 829hp NA Tuned V-10(94/S with high nose), 002 has 829 turbo charged V-6(88/S)

Please remember before starting a topic that has been discussed numerous times to please use the search option here at GTPlanet.

Hello all,

Am I right in saying that the PAL version of the game only has the Polyphony 001 and 002?

Anyone know why?

(I was thrown out of the :m&m: M & M :m&m: factory for throwing away all the W's)

I know this is an old thread, but actually the F686/M is a 1986 Williams FW11 driven by Mr. Mansell

See here

I'm bored, not trying to nitpick, but it's 6am and I couldn't sleep because I have an exam this morning :( :P

Is that the F1 car that comes in Green and has about 900bhp?
I am not sure what it is called because I had to hack it out of a Japanese version of GTC to drive it.

That has to be my favorite f1 because it is quite difficult to drive. Could anyone tell me what F1 car that is, well the GT3 name anyway.

Hmmm, I don't think so. The F686/M that I have is painted almost identically to that of the FW11 in that link, except it doesn't have any yellow.

I think you must have a F687/M or something?

The one I drove was totally green, I am not sure if it comes in any other colours but it was such a challenge to drive, unlike all the others which just stick to the road. I hate the PAL F1 cars (yeah all 2 of them)because they are just mish-mashes of different F1 cars, although I see the resemblence in some of the PAl and NTSC cars.

Oh whoops my bad I didn't see where you lived.

I actually have no clue then what the car you're talking about is, since I have no experience with the PAL F1 cars.

Oh hold on I should have explained it better.
I have GT3 Pal, which has 2 F1 cars The polyphony 001 and 002, which are based on the models in the NTSC game, but have been changed a bit.

I also have a copy of GTConcept 2001 that is Japanese, with this you can't drive the F1 cars but you can Hack them out, these are the ones that you can get in your game like the F686/M, but because I hacked them out I don't see the names of the cars. So what is the name of that F1 I was talking about?
