People use g force simulators on games like live for speed etc. This where pc has another advantage. These use actuators and control boxes , sim x software to do all the calculations.

Sim-x requires Windows XP etc.

You can install windows xp on the Sony Playstation 3. It runs slow maybe.
Linex can be installed on PS3. It runs fast. People sell PS3 with linex installed.

All you need now is the sim-x type program to be installed on the PS3 and an encoder who actually values the Gran Turismo 5 game and Bobs your uncle.

You can now you use your SCN5/frex actuators and have your realistic graphics and your motion. Just good physics required now for the game.

Am I right or wrong?

For that to work, you would need the Sim X program to run on the PS3 system software and for GT5/Prologue to be re-written to use them.

Or you would need both the Sim X program and GT5/Prologue to be re-written to run in Linux.

Neither of those options are going to happen.

You do realise that putting Linux on a PS3 means you cannot use PS3 software, don't you?

Is'nt the ps3 like a pc... You have operating system , harddrive, cpu etc.
Your operating system is running while you play games.
Linux is always in the background. You have to install the game which you probably cannot do right now, to linux.

Yeah you'll need encoders to do the work from GT5 to the x-sim software.

Anyhow the GT5 prologue is calculating G-force. While your driving you can see the silly bars. moving... everything is being calculated. We just cannot see it like you can in pc games like LFS etc.

People have already done this with GT4 on the ps3.. Motion sim...

It can be done...

I think it will be...

No there is no Linux that drives the GT 5 for example. op systems eats resources and PS 3 is primarily a gaming console :)

I am a live for speed player before anyone starts thinking im a unreal dreamer.

But it will be done one day. It has been done with gt4 and will be done with gt5.

Wouldn´t take anything for granted but for sure it´s not impossible depending on how polyphonics develope their sim. But without their support it won´t happen I suspect :)
