g25 problem centering with new update

Ive got the same problem with mine the only difference being i didn't get my G25 until after we'd already received the spec III update so i presumed this was just the norm until I saw this post.

No problem for me after the update, don't let go of the wheel and you won't have a problem. :dopey:

Does your wheel center correctly when it does the test? mine centers when I turn the PS3 on but when it tests again when I start the game it always ends up with the center slightly to the left

One thing you can do is to make sure that the wheel has the #1 setting among the controllers. Even if you happen to have the wheel connected to USB #1 doesn't mean that it's set to the #1 setting. You can do this by going to the Setting>Accessories; and using the button on your G25 of DFGT (or any other wheels) and set it to #1. You can also use the sixaxis/DS3 and relegate the controller(s) to #2 or any other # except 1.
Prior to discovering this I found that every time I raced either online or event races (but not TT), everytime I hit a corner and when I turn the wheel, it gets jerky.

and physics suck now, nothing drifts properly, everything snap oversteers.

PD really screwed up on this update, now they better fix this so I can play GT5P again
That is a problem on YOUR side not the game i can drift fine with this update. So insted of complaining and not playing becuase you old setup doesnt work properly, how about you spend some time and practice and get good enough to correct this "snapback" Also u wouldnt get snap back if you were drifting correctly

nothing personal just find it pathetic that people will stop playing becuase of a few changes

Mine centers to the left on initial PS3 boot up and also the same once the GT5P game has booted up.

I have asked this question to Logitech Support and will post back here once they reply to me :)

I know it's not a good thing for you but I'm kind of glad it's not only mine, it doesn't seem to affect the driving at all it's just annoying.
I'll look forward to hearing what they have to say about it. 👍

Hi,

Yes I have seen many videos on youtube that does show the wheel slightly centre to the left or right. However my main concern is the wobble I get in GT5P when I let go of the wheel on a straight and then give it a nudge, only for the wheel to sway left and right. I do have the spec III update as well.

Does your's do the same ?

Thanks :)

I drove the F1 car the other night for the first time and when I reached high speed above 300kph, the wheel turned left to right like when at a stand still but much more violent, with me trying to keep it straight.

Try lowering the FF. 👍

I had the FF on 7. I got rid of the car after, as I found it too arcade like on s2 tyres. I just thought I would report it here anyway to see if anyone else experienced it.

Hi,

Yes it does it on the F1 car, I read a fix for it on the Official PS3 forums here on the 2nd page last post:- http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=granturismo&thread.id=341311&view=by_date_ascending&page=2

But does it do it on any other cars, when you give the wheel a nudge on straights ?

Thanks.

This is the response I got from Logitech regarding the G25 and PS3. The short story is the G25 is not designed for the PS3 unless the PS3 game developer supports it. Maybe there is a reason why GT5P has no support for the G25 wheel in the controller options :nervous:

"""Thank you for contacting Logitech's Electronic Technical Support.

I am sorry to learn that the Logitech G25 Racing Wheel is not working as expected on your PlayStation 3. You have mentioned that you have already tried testing the wheel on different PlayStation but the same issue persists.

It is important to determine the cause of the issue. Hence, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

I would like to inform you that Logitech G25 Racing Wheel is designed to work on PC and PlayStation2 only. However, if there is any game that is designed to work on PS3 with the G25 wheel then you will be able to use the wheel on the PS3. You will need to either contact Sony or any game vendor to know whether there are compatible games to use the G25 wheel on PS3.

a. Please make sure that the Logitech G25 Racing Wheel is supported by the game. I would like to inform you that the Logitech G25 Racing Wheel works in any game if the game supports it. To obtain information on whether the G25 Wheel is supported by the game, please contact your game vendor.

b. Please ensure that you have configured the G25 Wheel within the game. If you are unable to configure the Wheel, I suggest you to refer the game documentation or the help file of the game to obtain this information. You will find detailed information about configuring the Wheel within the game. The help file can be accessed by pressing F1.

c. Also try testing the G25 Wheel in different games, if the G25 Wheel is not working in a particular game and if the G25 Racing Wheel works in other games, the issue may be game specific which means that the issue is only specific to the particular game you are using the Wheel in. In this case, please contact the game manufacturer for further assistance in this regard.

If the issue persists with the wheel then test the Logitech G25 Racing Wheel in the Windows Game controller

- Click Start->Control Panel->Game Controllers
- Select G25 Racing Wheel USB from the pick list and click Properties
- In the Logitech G25 Racing Wheel Properties screen click Settings.

If the Wheel does not respond properly in the Game controller, then test the Logitech G25 Racing Wheel on a different system and in different games
If possible also test the wheel on PlayStation.

If the issue persists with the wheel, please do not hesitate to write back to me.

If you have any additional questions regarding your product, please feel free to visit our website at http://www.logitech.com

Kind Regards,

Hi no probs. You couldn't just confirm one thing for me please ? Does your wheel wobble on a straight after taking yours hands off it after giving it a nudge ?

Thanks :)

Mine does no matter what car I drive. Is it supposed to be that way or is there anyway I can prevent it from happening?

Thanks!

Yeah it does but that is supposed to happen so no need to worry about that.

Hi There,

Thanks for the reply, I guess it must be a feature of this wheel with GT5P. It certainly does this in Formula One Championship Edition for the PS3 and rFactor for the PC.

Yeah it does but that is supposed to happen so no need to worry about that.

Oh great thanks for the info :)

It might just be a coincidence but since the events have been changed my wheel has decided to center correctly every time. Has anybody else's started working properly or is it just mine?

Mine still centres to the left on PS3 boot up and on GT5P boot up. It centres correctly once Formula One CE boots up though 👍
