Most of the the top replays I've watched haven't really had any over steer. My guess is that if you are having to correct over steer then you have already lost too much time.

Not the GT5 demo, but I don't turn the wheel much differently now than I did then.

I am very smooth, so don't have to correct much.

The following one will be more representative of "normal" driving

Also not G25, but still a 900 degree wheel.

sorry should have explained better, currently I am not having too much oversteer but when I watch replays/ghosts I notice that the faster people are back up to full throttle faster than me coming out turns.

If I try and get on to full throttle earlier than I usually would (to keep up with the ghost) I spin out.

Maybe I just have to accept that Im going as fast as I ever will be

sqeeeeeze the throttle very very gently on exit.. it will still accelerate at 95% but 100% will mean donuts. mmmm donuts....

You may need to sharpen your steering input just a bit before you begin accelerating, then straighten your wheel as much as possible when you put the hammer down, and gently guide the car from there. This is opposed to trying to go full throttle while you still have lots of steering angle and a lot of lateral weight transfer and momentum.

that tip is one of the best tips i've read, and in trying to practice that i'm already knocking time off thank you

Like glubag said, ease back on the throttle while exiting a corner to maximize grip, preventing wheel spin. Plus, make sure that your car is always straight while under hard braking.
