Hey everybody! This is my custom rig, completely build by my hands and really proud of it! After a lot of changes we are on version 2.0 :P.

The leather seat is from a BMW E36 and it super comfortable! I can do 3 hour sessions and not get tired from it at all. It has 5 different adjustments and its one of the best choices as the newer seats that got lots of adjustments unfortunately are electric and not easy to use. The adjustments are
angle of the seat base, height of the seat base, extension for supporting the knees, front-backward on the whole seat and bending the back.

The handbrake is from a Nissan D21 and it's the easiest handbrake to install EVER. I literally added it with zero effort! When I lift it the circuit gives signal to the gear box and presses button X. I used the standard mechanism and electric circuit on it and it works like a charm. Of course I removed the button so that it's free to return. It's not as heavy to let it return on it self but I could make it if I wanted to since it's hollow and I could add weight to it, but I prefer if I return it since its better controlled this way!

The pedals are removed from their base, turned upside-down and reverted to match the exact car position. I have used a metal base with several holes in between so that I can change the space in between all 3 pedals to what I need, i.e. the clutch closer to the brake etc. I have added Nixxim springs for both brake and clutch and used the original clutch spring for the accelerator because it felt too light for me in the first place.

The rig is designed to be completely customisable. I have added 4 holes on each side of the wood holding the wheel which in combination with the 2 holes in the metal thingies holding it I have 8 different height adjustments for the wheel. The wheel is not covered at all and is cooling well. The gearbox and handbrake were positioned exactly like in a car and everything feels right at home when you get on the seat. The rig can be split in half or in 3 pieces. 1.)Wheel and Monitor 2.) seat and/or 3.)the console with the gearbox and handbrake. Also you can change the distance that the seat or the console are screwed in relation to the wheel, which is not needed actually since the seat is so customisable you will never need that.

Every one who has tried to make a custom rig knows how hard it is to make it steady as a rock and to find the perfect seat position. I did mistakes too from the start but little by little I corrected all of them until I found perfection. It is really a joy to drive on it and it doens't get tiring after 3 or 4 hours straight.

My future plans unfortunately are on an XBONE to play FM5 and I am thinking of selling this. When I prepared to sell it I fixed all the last adjustments it needed and when I tried it, it felt soooooo good that now I am at at a hard spot.... add to that, that I purchased AC and I am in love with it and you can see how hard it's going to be to separate from this. If I sell it, I will sell it complete because first I am bored to add everything back to the original shape and I love the idea of creating a new custom rig for the Thrustmaster TX which I am most likely going to get after the G27. This time I will use dexion type metal (something like this http://www.bristol-storage.co.uk/st...elving_-_bristol_storage_the_online_depot.jpg ) for the rig because its a totally new challenge and the holes on them make it easy to adjust everything. It's gonna be really interesting!

Last I am ready to make the mod that lowers noise, makes the FFB stronger and reduces the dead zone. Now if I do that I am not so sure if I will sell it in the end.... I have bought both Pcars and AC which are coming this year and I could wait for a year easily and see how prices drop for XBONE and TX (or even a base model been sold since I would want it with the GTE, other pedals and TH8).

For ergonomic s reason, I suggest you relocate your rig so the shifter is near to wall. So you will have easy access to your rig without jumping above shifter. There's a risk of stepping the shifter or tripping due to the height.

Well done mate :)

The handbrake and seat costed nothing because I got them from my store :P (but you could expect around 100 euro) . The wood around 60 euro and screws/metals etc. around 20 euro max.

Hi, nice rig!

1. Why don't you pull the TV closer to yourself? I moved my rig much closer to my TV and it's like a free bigger screen.

2. Don't sell it. When the mods for AC start rolling in FM5 won't be a match.

3. Get a buttkicker. I've been driving with one for a month and when it is off I'm like - What's wrong? It's all meh!

4. Put a real car rim on the G27. I just did. It gives a much closer feeling to a real car. It also makes drifting much easier because you can handle the wheel the same way you would do in a real car. The G25/27 rims don't allow for a quick and precise rotation over several hundred degrees.

5. Try a little software called TrackNoIr. It uses a webcam to track your face and rotate the ingame view in PC sims. I always use it when driving.

6. Look up the GTEYE spring. It really makes a difference.

I hope I've been able to provide an advice that will help you improve your experience! Greetings from Bulgaria!

1. It bothers my eyes if it's too close. Getting older sucks :P

2. It's a hard decision to make, but FM is really tempting for me at least. Also there is nothing similar coming in the near future to PC (or even 3-4 years ahead I don't see anything similar to Gt or FM)

3. Yeap it's definitely on the TO DO list

4. I like the buttons... but you are right...

5. I really want to do that! It's so awesome being able to look around freely

6. In comparison to Nixxim?

There's this guy that we verbally made a deal, if he shows up with the money in 2-3 weeks I won't say no. But if he doesn't I don't care since I am really happy! And I am not going to sell it cheap at all trust me ;).

p.s. I haven't found any one with instructions for the mod yet :(

5: I second that. I never race without head tracking. Looking to apex, mirrors and cars driving beside you is easy now. I never liked the option "automatic look at apex" - it makes me a bit sea sick. I'm using a cap with 3 IR LEDs, PS3 Eye with the IR filter removed and FreeTrack at 100 FPS - hardly any lag and very robust tracking.

4. I bought an aftermarket rim with holes on the spikes. I think buttons can be stuck in those holes.
6. Oh, you have nixxim? Sorry, I meant compared to stock.

do you run the ps3 eye at 320x240? Mine can't reach 100fps at 640.

Yes, it's running at 320x240. At 640x480 it's maximum is about 75 fps. But I prefer more fps, never noticed less head tracking resolution, it's very smooth. Some are running 320x240 even at 130 fps, but my PS3 Eye produces a lot of noise at that frame rate. 100 fps is enough.
Forgot to mention: you need a daylight filter as well for the PS3 Eye (IR passes, daylight is blocked).

Yeah I know, I refuse to play with a cap so I'm using a facetracker with no ir lights. It has lag though.
