I really don't understand people who shell out that goddamn much to play a game... I could buy 3 games from new with that amount of cash, and 3 games = more game time than the extra given by a wheel, no?

I think your on the wrong website.

Converted to GBP this is a extremely nice price. Me wants :(

No. I could buy 50 games and they wouldn't provide more playing time than GT5 with a wheel.

People pay far, far more than $200 for setups anyway. This is a great deal, thanks OP. Perhaps it's time to upgrade from my DFGT. I'm not sure how i'd mount the shifter on my PlaySeats though?

Since when has GT5 been impossible to play with a DS3? I regularly beat people with wheels online, thank you very much.

And also, if I bought just MW3 and BF3, then I'd have more game hours than I'd know what to do with, GT5 could in no way compete.

It doesn't matter how fast you are, it's about how fun the game is. There is no question that it's an entirely different experience when using a wheel versus a controller. For me at least, I'd rather loose to a controller driver than drive with a controller.

With that said, even a retarded drunken monkey on a DS3 could beat most of the poor excuses for online racers these days.

I admit, I was about to come with fairly hard counter-arguement, but you made me laugh so much I'm not going to XD Let's accept we have different tastes in gaming and the way it should be done, and move on, lol.

Exactly, for a lot of us the enjoyment factor goes way up when using a wheel and the better quality that wheel the higher the enjoyment. I view GT5 more as a hobby than a game and I don't mind investing a little money into my hobbies. To each their own though, I don't expect everyone else to feel the same.

That is a good deal.

Playing a racing game with a controller is definitely doable and millions do it everyday, but like iamsupernasty said, it's all about the experience.

The downside of using a wheel (which is minor) is setting it up if you have a family or smaller place. Sometimes I wish I liked using a controller in situations like this, but overall, racing with a wheel and proper set up is the ultimate way to go.

Crap! I just bought mine from there for $234 shipped. It was worth every penny! It made GT5 a whole new experience!! Awesome!

Is that really a good price? On the Chinese site Taobao I can buy one for around £200.
I plan to get one in the near future, direct from the Logitech dealers. I suppose being close to the supplier helps a lot.

200 pounds is rather more than $200. Also, most people (Americans) would be hesitant to purchase from a Chinese website.

How much of an improvement are the G27 pedals over the DFP/DFGT? Brake and throttle more specifically.

playing with ds3 is not comparable to g25/g27. getting g25 with playseat changed my life in gaming. you can mount the shifter but you have to get the shift mount on the playseat separately.

Edit: just ordered one. I figure I can sell my DFGT and my bicycle that I've been trying to sell and make up for most of the cost.

$205 shipped was just too hard to pass up.

I did too, I was saving for a T500 but I decided I really don't need it yet, especially at that cost, and the G27 will be big upgrade over DFP.

Well if you really enjoy racing games like me, you have the cash for one, and you want one, then why not?

That's your opinion man and I can tell you that a wheel makes the game a lot more enjoyable.

I dont understand why you would be reading OR posting in this sub forum if you feel that strongly about a wheel. After all that is all this sub forum is about. Good news is YOU can buy 3 games WE can buy a wheel and ALL of us can be happy. :)

If 200$ is alot of money to you, you should probably sell your game systems anyway, and stop playing games and work on making some money. And as far as your ds3 goes, check the worlds fastest guys, I bet at least 90% of them use a wheel.

I don't race that much, but the money I payed for the G27 was worth every penny. Racing games are soooo much better with a wheel.

Well then your on the wrong sub-forum pal.

You are comparing quality to quantity. Some of us have the best of times on a wheel, more than even 5 games could do. Especially when there are $500 wheel options in the market....Just food for thought.
