Hi everyone, I couldn't find a thread about this , I wanted to get your thoughts on the G25 if its better/ worse what you like what you don't like etc etc.
I love the G25, I was a little careless with my G25 I kept pulling the plug under the wheel out by the cable part, and not by the plastic bit. So I pulled the wires out and spent weeks trying to get someone to fix, a computer shop tried but couldn't do it, so I tried, and just couldn't get it to work.
So I got a G27 yesterday . And I gotta say overall the wheel is good. I love how quiet it is, and so does my room mate, I play online at 4am with ppl overseas so its welcomed how quiet it is.
The wheel is thicker which is great you get a better hold of the wheel, and it feels stronger/Sturdy. and the rest is all the Pro's of the G25 not really worth going into.
Pedals are better as now I can heel toe brake properly, With the G25 to heel toe, I had to release the brake to 75% pressed just to be able to blip the throttle which sucked as you couldn't brake at 100%. This has been rectified (thanks be to God) and I am a little quicker as my rhythm is a lot better. Plus you can adjust them more if you need to. But out of the box its almost perfect for me! If I wanted to be picky I could put a small spacer on the brake to make me 100% happy at the moment I am 93% happy with the pedals.
I am a little upset you can't change the shifter from H pattern to sequential, as when I played GTR or other games that has a car with a shifter like that, say V8 super cars in R factor, but hey what can you do.
Actually a thought just popped into my melon. can you plug in the G25's shifter? I will have to try when I finish this review.
now the Con's I don't like.
there are only a few, and maybe you have all rectified these and can help.
the first and is the most annoying is the 6 little buttons. For some reason I keep nudging them when I turn big turns, lucky in F1 2010 I have them set to the car progress display Tyre temp etc. So it doesn't affect the racing. the old G25 had just the 1 button, it was large, and needed a bit of pressure to work, so that stopped this from happening. So if anyone has a solution to help stop this or to rectify it, I am all ears.
And the last problem I have is, The stitching where your hands sit at 10 O'clock and 2 O'clock, on the inside part of the wheel it rubs against my thumbs. and when your racing your gripping the wheel hard, I got a blister after 40 minutes. with the G25 this never happened and I did 2 hour Enduro's with Live For Speed. So I might have to tape it up or cover with cloth. I have racing gloves but being thick they make it even easier to accidentally hit the 6 buttons.
So if anyone has some idea's to help with the little issues or if you have rectified them, I am all ears guys.
Thanks for reading and I hope the review helps you make a decision.
To buy or not to buy. That is the question!
