G27 or DFGT?

iShift
I just purchased my first wheel which is the g27 with the 50% code also. When I purchased though it said out of stock, anyone know when these things will be back in stock?

A GTP member told me he bought with "out of stock" shown on the Logitech website but got tracking confirmation already.

I'd say give it a few days (as Logitech does ship in stock items within their advertised 3 day window). If you don't get an email with tracking confirmation, check your order status online or email them.

I use a DFGT and, imo, this whole thing is a bit unfair. One is for people on a budget and the other is for the more serious crowd. To whoever mentioned the fanatec Carrera, thanks a lot, you made me want it. If I knew about that back in seventh grade (when I bought the DFGT), I would've bought that instead. However, I find Logitech's carpet spikes really useful. When I save up enough, I'm buying a G27.

A bit off topic. I was looking at the G27 on amazon, and someone's selling it for over $22,000. Don't believe me, see for your self. Just scroll to the bottom.

Well even though the website says out of stock, I just got an e-mail stating that a ups label has been made with tomorrows date on it so hopefully they do have it and ship it off tomorrow.

Just got my email too :)

Time to build a shifter mount and eBrake mount.

I feel ya, I have been doing a lot of searching on something I can build for the whole setup on a cheap budget. As far as the eBrake goes, I will have to work on that at a later time. I wonder how hard of a transition it's going to be going from a controller to a wheel for the first time ever.

Roam the GTP Steering Wheels & Rigs section for GTP user SlowEddy thread. He has plans and materials list for a SIMUL8R style PVC cockpit. I entertained this setup for a while only to remember how many drunk people would be playing on my setup. I opted for a steel frame from Sim-Seats.com and put my own seat on it. Pics in the steering wheel & rigs section in the "Post your GT5 mancave setup" thread somewhere.

With the wheel, just don't drive like a retard. Slow, steady and smooth at first. Work yourself up in pace...

On the order note my G27 DEFINITELY shipped out of TN today, funny thing is they haven't charged my card for it. Crossing my fingers I'm getting it for free, but highly unlikely...

Same here, according to UPS mine shipped out this morning, as far as no charge I have not checked yet. That is also a pretty good cockpit thread so I will probably begin to work on that here shortly too. Thanks for the info.

Wow this thing is amazing. Just started using it tonight. It is gonna take me a few hours with it or more to get used to the h shifter and clutch but the paddle shifters are pretty easy to learn. I had a huge smile on my face for 8:30 min, being that's how long it took me to take a car around the green hell. I felt as if I was really there. My lap times have lengthened significantly however over time I'm sure they will drop. And rally is fun as hell too, I wasn't even into rally until I tried it on this wheel, now I can't stop playing it.

I've been loving my G27 too. Add me on PSN if you want to rally. Hard to find people into it. I have some technical snow tracks I made that are a good wheel workout.
