G27 Wheel Button Problem....

Hey Guys,

After some spirited fun with my G27 for over a year, I've encountered a problem. I don't think it's common from a quick Google search but I want some input on the matter.

On the wheel, the left side middle button seems to be 'stuck' for lack of a better word. The button stays engaged but I won't even be touching it. So whatever function I've assigned that button to, the function will stay on. This is annoying because I had to remap all my buttons on GT and Dirt3 to avoid having any issues. However, when I turn the wheel extremely, be it left or right suddenly the button disengages so I'm thinking its a loose wire or something along those lines.

What should I do? I don't want to muck about taking the G27 apart then next thing I discover I've made it worse.

there are diagrams on Logitech site showing dismantle of gt27. be gentle lifting top off.very short wires. doesn't sound major. good luck

I'll take a gander today at the diagrams. Probably may need some solder.

There's a few vids on YouTube that will show you how to dismantle the wheel from the base, it's easier than it sounds.

This one shows how to swap steering wheels on your G27, you only need to watch the first half that shows how to take off the wheel, you can see what the wires look like underneath so you won't get caught out when you remove it...good luck!
