Sounds like GM could be sticking around until 2027 at least.

Erebus or BJR would have to be the front runners? Not sure any of the other current GM teams have the resources to be a homologation team.

There goes my theory.

And there you go. GM will continue* with the Camaro in this series thru to the end of 2027.

*Unless the higher ups in America decide to put an end to the program before then but lets not worry about that part. Probably...

I really like the Friday night race idea, feels like proper appetiser for the longer races over the rest of the weekend. They're not really doing them any where other than Adelaide are they?

Good to hear some positives about the new tyre.

It's just a shame Feeney got that puncture as I feel his presence near the front of the field would've really added to the race.

Cam is seriously fast.
16 odd seconds margin over Mostert in 2nd in 26 laps. When was the last time we saw a non Triple 8 car win by that much? Positive signs from Tickford that they've managed to carry over their form from the back half of last year. Hopefully they can continue it.

Edit: The BRT garage is going to be an awkward place to be today after that.

The track looks so good in twilight, when its just dark enough for the stadium lighting to do its job.

Edit: Really cool how the fuel churns are transparent

Edit: Phwoah this is wild

I watched the final laps replay. That was a cool finish. Indeed, glad the officials let them race.

I guess T8 don’t want to rub Ford the wrong way this year. ;)

HAVE YOU EVER??? Wow I’m happy I stopped playing on the PlayStation for a little bit. More of this please Supercars!

Okay. Waters contact on Feeney is a 15 second penalty everyday of the week though, right? Like Percat got 15 seconds for a lot less on the opening lap. I'm glad we got that awesome finish but there's no way Cam doesn't get penalized if that happened a few laps earlier. 😅
But cue the T8 protests.
Jamie was probably confused that Cam was able to redress without causing a massive accident. :sly:

I've seen that exact same type of incident be deemed the other way round quite a few times, in that Broc didn't leave racing room when there was overlap... but that outcome only ever happened against Cam or Chaz, and for a T8 driver. I think that may be how they've called the initial contact. Although I'm not 100% sure this one passed the pub test (just like the previous ones didn't either) as Cam said he had a slight lock-up.

Edit: Looks like your take was spot on 👍.

Still, it must be nice for Cam to finally have a call go his way.

On replay that final contact was a bigger shot than I thought, happy with no penalty though, I think they could legitimately say the overtake was seperate to the contact anyway.
I thought the same.

Moving the goal posts, I realize. But now I question why Ryan Wood got a PLP instead of 15 seconds. He redressed with Courtney (eventually lol). Unless of course the rules for unsafe pit releases changed in the off season. Thought a PLP was pretty harsh for that. 😅

Yeah, it was just funny too that Brown's little bump on Waters coming onto the straight might have been the thing that gave Cam the momentum he needed to be able to side draft Broc.

Also, the new fuel rigs are awesome. Its like NASCAR style.

I thought it was harsh too, but I've thought he's had quite a few harsh calls. It's almost like he's taken over Cam's spot of being Bairdo's punching bag.

For sure. No way he would've got past without that bump.

Edit: Something I've noticed is that the Mustang's bonnet flutters on the front corners, and the front guards flutter just behind the front wheels. :odd: Not sure if it's all of them but it was very noticeable on some on the slo-mo's.

Impressive that no one binned it. Would've been incredible if the rain came say 5 laps earlier, would've made it an actual decision whether stay on slicks or not

What a fantastic start to the year! This round demonstrated why I love this series soo much and just how good the racing product is compared to NASCAR. Supercars haven't always done things right but what has stayed mostly consistent is the racing product and we saw the best of it over the weekend. The best drivers fighting it out tooth and nail in all sorts of conditions... Supercars is still a sport at it's core, unlike NASCAR who have gone the wrong way with the "entertainment" approach.

I suppose Denny Hamlin's spray after the Daytona 500 made me more appreciative of the product we have here.
