ever play an ancient game called street rod? its made in like the 90s for PC......uses DOS interface..... anyways its more drag oriented, but there are some road courses in which you race. BUT when you do crash, you die literally and you need to start over. Also, you might not die but the cars totalled and you need a new one. Its interesting, but gets me pissed off cuz i keep dying hehe.

Maybe dying in a car sim is a bit extreme, but it would be cool if your car could die at least: like if you had to keep buying parts for it. I know in GT3 you can do oil changes, but why stop there? Blown engines, trannys and overheating brakes would be a good start.

Simulate real life racing... Yeah it would be good if you could over rev your engine and blow it, or if the second hand motor you bought cheap had high mileage and blew up if you raced to hard, fading brakes during long races and trannys that would miss gears or get stuck in a gear if you raced too hard.

Just get 100% complete with 60 golds in 226 days :)

Takes quite a bit of planning because 1 mistake means you can't do it (unless of course you cheat, but where's the honour in that ?)

I'm at 96% and with all gold (at 277 days) and I totally agree with you, I've lost a couple of races and my plan (which was similar to yours) was blown.
btw, does anybody know what the symbol is below the trophy icons on the status screen. I really want to know.

OK it's been 10 days since my last post and no-one responds?!
phooey!

In Gran Turismo it's referred to as the Kiddie Prize. Basically you get this instead of a trophy if you:

1. convert your GT1 licenses to GT2. If you have all the B, A, and IA licenses in GT1 and use the convert feature in GT2, you'll automatically get the B & A licenses in GT2, but you won't have any trophies...instead you'll have that green & yellow symbol.

2. If you try and try for a license in GT2 and almost make a bronze, I think the game will automatically give you a kiddie prize.

In real life, it's called a Sho-Shin or something like that. It's given in Japan to people who are just learning how to drive and it's basically like a warning to other folks on the road that this is a new driver. Man, we sure could use this in the States...

You'd have to be pretty bad not to be able to get a bronze on the majority of the license tests ...

On most of the license tests, I have difficulty getting bronze ... It seems that, no matter how badly I screw up, I always manage a silver ...

Yup. Tell it like it is...the other day I was doing that test with the Camaro going thru the double turn and slid sideways, hit the wall, and still managed a silver.

hah maybe i just sucked crap when i was a beginner, because i had trouble getting anything BUT fail. =)

ANYWAYS i've cleared all the races up to international B license. Excluding a bit of manufacturers, since theres no way the prize cars can cover that, ill get to it after i beat the races. My AE86 serves as a multipurpose machine, and i plan to own the high power races using a supra since i am racing all (mostly) Toyotas =D. But im lazy and not motivated anymore because i feel like driving for real more, and of school. Ill get back to it sooner or later.

IMO, those license tests are very easy. I know wich test you are referring to, when you approach the apex in the last corner of the sweeping carousel (U-shaped turn with two 90 degree corners), do not brake. Instead, just let off of the accelerator and make a wide turn into the last apex, but do not turn to abruptly.

I'm too good to that trophy, then. I earned all of my license's in all gold in 10 GT2 days a couple of weeks ago. :D

I remember reading that you have to miss it a few times to get the kid's prize. But don't quote me...like I said I have a hard time failing GT2 tests...
