I kinda wish Reiza would integrate Formula Trucks into AMS as well. Imaging Supertrucks and FTrucks on the same track!

Automobilista is out today. It feels completely different in a great way. Everything just drives great now and I don't know why. And the Formula V10 is god tier.

Loving Automobilista so far! For sure im gonna spend my time in this game! :)

Also found out that the AI is very... Helpful.

I'm so tempted to download this, but I think I'll wait until it's out of Early Access. I've been hearing reports of severe frame rate issues and wheel FFB not working.

Also, @oqvist should probably update the thread title.

So I have been having strange frame rate issues with GSCE. I'm using FRAPS for FPS readings. My laptop specs is not an issue (Windows 10, i7, 8GB RAM, GTX 860M) as I can run Assetto Corsa on High settings pretty well (90-100 FPS) and Formula Truck on Max settings (200+ FPS). However with GSCE I can only get 30-40 FPS. The weird thing is, the FPS is consistent whether I use the lowest graphics settings or everything maxxed out. Which leads me to think it's not the game, but something else that's limiting the FPS artificially (like an FPS cap).

Things I've tried:
- Checked nVidia control panel (make sure use GTX instead of Intel GPU)
- Right click the games folder and go on properties - security and allow everything for all apps, system and your user
- In the NV Control Panel, under 'Manage 3D Settings', click the 'Program Settings' tab, set max pre-rendered frames to 1
- Everything in these threads:
http://www.racedepartment.com/threads/when-wiill-stock-car-extreme-work-on-windows-10.109188/
http://www.racedepartment.com/threa...st-w-practically-no-image-quality-loss.97304/
- Changing GSC Config does not work somehow :odd: If I change the resolution to 1920x1080 32 bit from program folder, when I click to launch the game using desktop shortcut it opens GSC Config again (default setting resolution 800x600 16 bit). I change it to 1920x1090 and game starts. But when I quit and check again in program folder it reverts back to 1920x1080 16 bit. WTF?! :banghead:

Any pointers folks? First the auto steering rotation adjustment doesn't work, and now this. I think my copy of GSCE is cursed...

Does it do it w/o FRAPS?, GSCE has a built-in FPS-read if that's all you're after - Ctrl+F I believe.

Otherwise, couple of things here you could try - https://steamcommunity.com/app/273840/discussions/0/520518053447729776/ - nothing too different from what you might've tried, but might be a better 'combination'.

Although your Config not 'sticking' seems odd, somethings wonky there - if you have the Steam version of GSCE I'd recommend an integrity-check, make sure all the files are good and didn't get messed-up somehow.

Edit* - worse case scenario, try a fresh install ? (completely uninstall/delete everything, start from scratch, etc)

Tried using Ctrl+F and got 50 FPS. Better, but I know it should be higher. I mean AC which looks better can get 100 FPS and FTruck which looks similar can get 200 FPS.

Tried everything in that thread too. No change.

Did integrity check. 2 files fail to verify and will be reacquired. Does this fix the problem automatically?

Don't think I'll bother reinstall tbh. Too much effort and I will be moving to AMS in a few months anyway. PC gaming is great but can be so frustrating sometimes...

Yes, usually Steam just grabs the specific files, as far as I know it's all done in the background, its not like an 'announced' update or anything, you might have to sign-out and log back in too.

True, but I prefer the freedom that comes with it, rather than waiting around for developers to deliver. *cough*PD*cough*

I ran the integrity check again after that, and it still shows 2 failed files. The only files I can think of that I changed are a RealFeel file and a RealFeel.backup that I made. The RealFeel values has been reverted back to stock, but the backup is still there. So it doesn't fix everything it seems. Pretty crappy system if you ask me. At least give us a list of the files that fail to verify.

Anyway, I did some more research and lo and behold, I found this thread:
https://www.reddit.com/r/simracing/comments/460d3s/suddenly_getting_low_fps_in_stock_car_extreme/

managed to find the fix, was a change in the user data folder to my username.plr file. Had to change a 0 to a 1.

edit: For those also having this issue, the line i had to change was "Delay video Swap=0" i had to change that to a 1. the file is located inside the game directory/userdata/profilename/profilename.plr (i might be off on the directory a bit, im at work and going from memory.) Hope this helps anyone else having issues!

So I did that and BOOM 240 FPS :D:D:D  :gtpflag: FRAPS and the in-game FPS counter now matched up 👍 I reverted back all my other changes and it still holds :)

Oddly I just did another check. Since I'm playing on a laptop, when I plugged the charger it gives 240 FPS. But when it ran on battery alone it goes down to 45 FPS, even though I didn't change any power plans (both on High Performance). So my graphics card is throttling itself when on battery power it seems :odd:

Yet again I have encountered another problem (this game is cursed for me, I tell you). My track map on the lower left of the screen has gone missing. I didn't even notice it until today because I played FTruck, and it reminded me that there's supposed to be a map there.

So naturally, I went on google, and most people can get it to show just by pressing Numpad 0 (http://www.racedepartment.com/threads/cant-show-map-overlay-gsc-2013.76320/). I checked the TrackMapConf file and pressing Numpad 0 does cycle through the different views (FIX/ROTATE/OFF), but the damn thing just won't show in game  All of my other HUD are visible, just the map isn't.

Any ideas?

Try Ctrl+M, they changed some function keys back when v1.50 released. 👍
http://www.racedepartment.com/threads/stock-car-extreme-v1-50-released.112891/ (at the bottom)

Tried that, didn't work. In any case, in v1.51 they reverted back to Numpad+0 for toggling the map:
http://www.racedepartment.com/threads/stock-car-extreme-v1-51-released.114010/

As I've said above the toggle button seems to work (the TrackMapConf settings does change), it just doesn't show the actual map in the game.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. :dunce:

Can you turn on/off other things (like tach, info box, etc) with the other numbers?

Can you turn on/off other things (like tach, info box, etc) with the other numbers?

Toggle Mirror NUM_3
Toggle HUD Stats NUM_4
Toggle HUD Tach NUM_5
Toggle HUD MFD NUM_6
Toggle Overlays NUM_7

These things (taken from my controller settings) all work except the last one (toggle overlays). Maybe that's the one?

I checked to make sure there aren't any other functions that uses NUM_0 as well. Still doesn't work.

EDIT: I reverted the only change I could think of - the Delay Video Swap setting I used above to get 240 FPS - and it worked!!! NUM_0 brings back the track map. But now I'm back to low FPS :banghead:

EDIT2: Did some more detective work:
Delay Video Swap = 0 (default) + TrackMap ON = low FPS
Delay Video Swap = 0 + TrackMap OFF = high FPS
Delay Video Swap = 1 + TrackMap OFF (can't turn ON at all) = highest FPS (around 10 higher)

So there is something with the trackmap plugin that's conflicting with my system somehow. What a weird problem :boggled: After googling I found this thread where people are having the same problem very recently as well (http://www.racedepartment.com/threads/very-strange-problem.117359/). The strange thing is FTruck have no problems whatsoever with video swap/trackmap/FPS all default and 240 FPS easy.

I decided to just use Delay Video Swap 0 and toggle the map on/off as needed. With AMS being released I doubt this problem is ever gonna get patched. Hopefully it's fixed in that game.

Oh well, hopefully this helps anyone who's having the same problem 👍

@Ak1504 Automobilista thread here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/automobilista.343559/page-2

Car and track looks excellent (except for that gear whine, ouch!). Good to see the recent licensing issues haven't put too much setback in their development plans. I'd be wary of releasing such a look alike car now though (Porsche & EA might not take too kindly to it). Maybe just change the body to something more generic.
