How old is your wheel? I bet you have used it a lot.
I have two GT3 era wheels, plus the new EX wheel that uses many of the same parts. Over time, the steering shaft becomes loose in the gear box. I recently tried to open the gear box, to find out why one steering shaft is looser than either the other old wheel or the new EX wheel, but I can't figure out yet how to open the case.
Something inside is either broken (nothing rattles), something came loose, or something is worn (don't know, can't tell for sure).
If anyone knows how to open the gear box, please let us know!
I don't want to break something.
BTW, be careful of your pedals. You can crack the gas pedal by twisting it or you can break the brake pedal off its round base by using leverage (pressing too hard). I am working on a way to protect the pedals using a special epoxy. It's easy to open the pedal box and clean or repair things.
