Generalized Settings?

Just wondering if any of you guys use "generalized settings" that you start with for any and every car? I am still having the hardest time with figuring out where to get started on the settings. I know that every car will have different settings in the end, I am just looking for a good starting point and then begin the tweaking process...

Softer spring rate in the rear. More camber in the front. Keep it simple until you get really good and really understand the effects of tuning.

I agree, I also like to lower the stabilizers to 1, personally. Some people don't. Raising the LSD to about 40-50 or so on all three points usually has pretty good effects too (I usually use 40/45/45 for starters).

I turn down the stabilizers as well unless a car has a lot of body roll. Also, I agree with battle_stage, keep it simple. Here are some of my basic settings I use most of the time:
Camber 1.0, 3.0
Brake balance 12/20
TCM and ASM off
and Sim tires

That's about it, anything else just depends on the car. ;)

This is for a FR car.:D

I try drifting the car stock first with simulation tires to determine its characteristics and then I tune the car according to my tests with it. Like the Supra, I left everything stock except the simulation tires. I kept the engine power stock on my Skyline except I added all the transmission mods onto it and some rims.

If I were you, I would try drifting the car stock with simulation tires first to find out how I should tune the car :)

That LSD settings fits better on sims-normal-sports.

I use the softest tyres the car can hold, and as many power I can get from the engine.

My starting settings for all my cars are:
Springs: min
Ride Height: min
Bound-rebound: stock
Camber: 3.0 1.0
Toe: 2.0 2.0
Stabilizers: 6/6

Brake: 14/24

LSD: evrything 5

Downforce: min

VCD: Depnce on the car but mainly 40~50

If the car needs more oversteer, decrease rear toe.

Personally, my setups are odd, but hell, they work for me. Mostly stock, or <400 hp, Sims, LSD Acel all up, and 3-5 chamber in front. thats about it. :odd:

Spring rate- +10 Front & Rear
Height- Low as possible for Front & Rear then add +6 on the rear
Bound- 4 Front & Rear
Rebound- 8 Front & Rear
Camber- 2.0 & 0.5
Stab- 4 Front & Rear

Break- 19F & 24R

LS:
Initial Tq- 5
Accel- +1 for every 150 Hp
Decel- 5

Trans: Auto Set @ 50%

Downforce- +10 Front & Rear
Asm- +1 every 550 Hp
Tcs- 0

VCD- you decide
AYC- you decide
