German Highspeed Tunes: Mazda 787B Race Car '91 - Nürbugring Special Edition

Hi,

after getting a good feedback for my last tune I decided to share another with you. This time I tried to tame the 787b regarding the special needs of the Nürbugring. Out came a really nice tune that improved the stability while not loosing too much speed.

Here is the tune:

GT Auto:
Oil Change

Tuning Shop:
Stage 3 Turbo
Racing Soft Tyres

Downforce
- 60/85

Transmission
- Top Speed : 410 km/h

Adjustable LSD (Front/Rear)

- Initial Torque : -/35
- Acceleration Sensitivity : -/45
- Braking Sensitivity : -/50

Suspension (Front/Rear)

- Ride Height : -22/-20
- Spring Rate : 15.8/14.8
- Dampers (Extension) : 7/4
- Dampers (Compression) : 4/2
- Anti-Roll Bars : 6/4

Wheel Alignment (Front/Rear)

- Camber angle : +2.0/+3.0
- Toe Angle : -0.00/+0.20

Brakes (Front/Rear)
- Brake Balance 5/5

Tuning setup is otimized for good conditions and racing soft tyres.
All Aids are off but ABS:1.

The tune was especially made for Nürburgring Nordschleife. I don't know how it will work on other tracks but I think it could use a harder suspension on less bouncier tracks then the Ring.

Facts:

Overall cost:
5,260,000cc basic costs + 250cc for oil + 36,000cc for racing softs + 20,000cc for the stage 3 turbo = 5,316,250cc

Power:
kW: 618/9000U/min at 712Nm/7000U/min

Weight:
830kg

PWr:
0.98kg/kW

Summary: This car handles perfectly. You still have to be a little carefull not to floor the pedal before you are going straight, but other then that you can push it way more then before. The handling and controllability improved a lot with this tune.

I just want to mention that I took VinceOnes LSD setting he used for the Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car since I found that it works well with high powered MR cars. So thank you Vince. Just wanted to give him the credits he deserves.

I will go and have another try and post my next time. I am sure I can cut some seconds. Please let me know if you like it.

Update: Just did a 6.04.260 laptime on the Ring with my second attempt and a DS3 Controller. I am sure that this car still has a lot of potential. Probably able to compete with some of the stronger cars.

And one thing is for sure. The sound of this car is sheer amazing!

Well, 6:04 it's a bit too much for a LM car, with a Peugeot 908 you can do a 5:35 at the Nurburgring, and with the R8 even 5:30

I don't think that the 787 is a bad car, probably you just haven't found it's best tune, or maybe it can't go faster than that, I don't know :D

Yea its a bit slow tbh. I know a few guys who use 787b at 650pp but they are setting times between 5:53 to 6:00 on there so there is alot to be got from this car.

lol you have like 5 post and 1 tune, yet your garage has the fire icon. Took me like 200 post before I got that.
