Hi guys. I just now joined and made my first comment about 5 mins ago so just getting wet. I came across this site while I was searching for GT6 related stuff only in the last couple days and have been perusing the forum ever since noting how much useful contributions are made and very excited about joining now.

I saw some recommendations regarding cars but didn't see this one mentioned and was wondering what y'all thought about it as am thinking about buying it some time. Looking real good to me.

Specs are as follows from what I saw:
Gillet Vertigo Race Car '04:
PP 665, Max HP 897 (FR/NA), Wt: 780 kg, Cr: 1,450,000

Why buy when you can win one at the latest Nurburgring Seasonal?

The latest and really coincidental to your needs.

Re the Seasonals. Don't you have to have a PSN /online account in order to get and/or participate in the Seasonals though?

I tried signing up yesterday but couldn't get past the first page of account creation as my country was not in one of the drop-down listed countries. Tried using a USA address for a home address I have over there but still no dice. "Connection Error" kept coming up so could never get to complete the registration.

Check the Internet connection? The registration can accept all countries at any place. So the connection error is most likely your connection itself, not the registration nor the PSN.

Though i recomend that you sign up on the country that closest to your current ones for sake of the DLC compability to your physical game if at a time you want one.

My internet connection seems to be ok though. Have no probs accessing the internet. Unless I'm missing something that's peculiar to the PSN network so am at a loss.
Re the registration, I don't think the registration can accept all countries though, only ones in the drop down list of countries.

If anybody gets a chance would appreciate some feedback on the Gillet Vertigo Race Car '04 though.

I'll be able to give some feedback on the car soon 👍 I'll edit my post or just pst again when I'm done :) stock settings or any? Merry Christmas also.

Now I'm not very good at reviews so here goes:
The Gillet Vertigo, 845hp in a car weighing 760kg for a pricetag of $1,450,000 sounds great! Not really but it's not q bad deal. The power to weight ratio means theres a lot of punch there and partnered with low downforce means this car becomes a monster on the straights but in the corners it's not as bad as I thought, the power is easily controllable despite the wheel spin. The balance felt a bit odd with understeer at high speed but not so at low. If you're looking to use it in events I'd probably pick many cars before this but no doubt with a tune and a driver looking for fun it'd be great! I'll try tuning mine and do a quick report.

I may also mention that I didnmt feel too confident on the breaks when heading into low speed corners after straights and the 50:50 weight distribution was great.

After some basic tuning it felt much better! It felt a lot more stable and at times funner. My tests were done at Nurburgring GP

@davidt33 I hope my odd review helps

Wow. Just goggled some user reviews on the Vertigo and despite the car looking good on paper re Max HP and light weight it got some horrible reviews and got licks most or all of the time against others cars. Well so much for that. Just saved myself a bunch of money. 1,450,000 was gonna be hard to part with all things considered.

This car is tricky to drive hence the poor reviews, but I recommend everyone to get one as it is so much fun to drive. Fit the high speed turbo to maximise the power and race hard tyres and set the top speed to 224mph. It will wheelspin in most of the gears and at Trial Mountain it will wheelie from the crest to the braking zone. If you select bonnet view you see the sky, but if you brake at just the right time you can make it round the corner and then wheelspin up then down the hill - hence this car is a lot of fun to drive in arcade mode or career mode. It does not handle well enough to be successful in online racing - unless in a one make championship, but the inability to paint the car or fit racing numbers is a major drawback to that.

I don't know what PD were thinking when they added this car to the game as in real life the race versions have 360bhp and are a lot heavier - two versions were raced at this power output, one with a 3.6 litre V6 Alfa Romeo engine and the other with a 4.2 litre V8 Maserati / Ferrari engine.

It is interesting that the race version was developed by the paralysed ex F1 racer Philippe Streiff who drives with a joystick.

My advice is buy the car and enjoy it as it is a lot of fun to drive and it will not take long to earn 1.5m credits - do the regular seasonal events and occasionally do the Redbull championship to earn big money.

Finally, Merry Christmas and welcome to GT Planet!

Thanks for the feedback Thomas and Sick Cylinder. Much appreciated.
When I read the reviews before yours I had literally crossed it off the wish list but since yours I'll keep it in mind. Cheers.

I'm happy to help 👍 If there are any other cars I'd be happy to quickly tests and provide some more feedback.

Hi David, I can second what Sick said about the car, it's an absolute blast to drive, but makes Race Hard tyres feel like Comfort Medium. You really do have to keep right on top of it to be able to stay on the black stuff. If you're struggling to get on the seasonals though it is a lot of credits to blow on one motor, there's a lot of fun to be bought much more cheaply.

Cheers, Zo.

Davidt33, which country are you referring to when you says it's not listed?

Trinidad Flynch. An island in the Caribbean.
I've since been able to create a PSN account using a USA address and therefor log in to the network. Instead of trying to create the account via the console I tried doing so from the computer and that did the trick. Was able to log in on the console afterwards.
This is my 5th day of being able to log in so my credits are now at 200% so I'm enjoying the added daily log in bonuses immensely.
