Last stint for me at Spa, won't have time tomorrow 😞

Improvements but far from enough, I'd need to train everyday during the TT to hope to get gold at Spa with this combo, but I've prioritized other stuff last week.

Best lap improved from 2:21.694 to 2:21.456
Best invalid lap 2:21.176
6 laps invalidated in Eau-Rouge
1st lap ok but I lifted.
Only three laps where I went through Eau-Rouge without lifting, without doing a good S1 anyway.

Optimal is just gold, but I've been unable to put a good lap together. Overall optimal is 0.5 under gold.

5 stints of 10 laps in the end, may be with double that I'd reached gold. Next time...

I usually give up if I get myself to a comfortable gold (or just gold, if it's taken me a while to get there), but on my first run at Spa I was struggling to complete a clean lap and my optimal time was just above the gold mark. Then, when it finally all came together I managed a time half a second better than my optimal!

So I was encouraged to keep going with both TTs this time and finally broke into the 2:19s at Spa last night. Sadly, it seems lots of people feel the same way this time (or they just find the Gr3 cars easier than me) and my 2:19.982 is nowhere near my best placing

Doing better at RA (road cars seem to suit my skills better), though painfully short of the 1:32s (1:33.052). Current 2,186, which would be my best placing yet, but I think I'll have to have another go before it finishes to keep it there.

Hi folks! Last chance saloon at Spa, again a lacklustre S1 let the team down and I left two tenths on the table… I’ll not be topping the gtplanet chart but a proud boi nonetheless placing highly with all assists off and ABS weak! It was definitely a case of coulda woulda shoulda but hey you can’t get the perfect lap all the time!!

Still fun trial, I enjoyed it very much

I give up at Spa, I tried hard. wasn't able to catch most of my friends times on the leaderboard. My final time was 2'24.296. Well it was fun while it lasted. Spa is a demanding track and you have to fully understand it before you can even get a time below 2'20.000.

@DolphDrago smashing lap there and that Kool-Aid GIF was hilarious. I'm glad the Spa challenge is over. Time to move on, shall we? Off to Daytona Road Course tomorrow. The bollards at Spa was a nightmare, everytime I touched them when I was having a good run which was annoying as hell. I tried several ghosts and I just couldn't keep up with the drivers. So I gave up after 3 hours today. Well, guess I'll be waiting for my measley bread crumbs.

I was close to ending the tonight’s session with Tuesday evening’s 17.942 as all I was managing were 18.0’s... Felt like whatever improvement I had left in me was so minimal the position gain wouldn’t be worth it, started considering it a fruitless exercise.

I could follow a 17.317 ghost really well through sector one (even catching up slightly) and two but around the end of sector two and into sector three I started losing time, messing up Pouhon, Campus and Stavelot. Anyway, very near the end of my patience I eventually hooked it all up quite nicely and cut off almost two tenths. Juuuust inside the top 100, with even less of a margin than last week’s NSX at Tsukuba where I cut it really close as well. Dropped two positions since I set the time ~3h 30m ago. Same time left until it’s over. We’ll see, haha. :D

Have to say I was a bit surprised that it was so incredibly tight (at least from around 2’17.5). In that perspective, with how tight all the times were and how difficult it was to enter top 100 it almost felt like a Gr.4 TT, if you know what I mean. Didn’t quite expect that, given it wasn’t Gr.4 but 3 and a lap at 137 seconds which to be fair is quite a decent amount. Probably some more Gr.3 merchants in the mix here properly pushing in a manner they otherwise don’t.

Gave Spa one last lash, the NSX looking at me like the Mrs does after I've had a few beers, "that all u got?".

Best I can do is a 21.8, watching the replay and it seems my lap is neat enough, I mean a few errors but I am just not using as much road with a wheel as I did with a controller. I'm clearly edgy about riding kerbs so I'm not squaring up the corner enough. But I feel like I am driving at ten tenths. Tbh bit disappointing as I always get within 3pc at Spa, if not 2pc but I've a lot of learning to do.

Did a last stint on Spa last night... Did not even come close to improving my PB so i'm stuck in silver with a 2.21.083
Optimal was 20.6xx but every time i was up in the middle of S2 i took it to careful to not invalidade the lap making me lose all my gains lol...
RA with th Focus is a better fit for me. Hope Daytona will be kind

Bad sleep, woke up early, so I did the last chance stint at Spa... and it's been misery. But I improved my best time quite a bit, not up to the point of getting gold sadly.

Managed to squeeze 14 laps before the clock stops.

Optimal, medium and all sectors were worse than yesterday, only 4 laps on 14 were not invalidated at Eau-Rouge (and 1st lap was with a lift).

New TT will be tough too, not a fan of Daytona Road Course, oh well at least it will train me...

Morning folks,

Congrats to all doing last moments hammertime on Spa, some real progression has been made for a lot of you 😁🙏

Meanwhile I was doing powerslides at Road Atlanta 🤣
For an hour long I tried to be the smooth operator and had some descent .1xx' s and a few .0's .....fastest S1 was a dead on .100 but couldn't make it happen.
Then got annoyed and absolutely went way to loose.. drifted all over the place.....wait...what? S1 .181????

even the chicane and last corner were hideous and even invalidated AFTER the line 🤣🤣.......with a PB... . No 31 but some places stolen back within top 100

Sooooo close.....🤣🤣

Moooooorning. I had one last attempt at Spa last night and managed to find another 0.4s, to finish with a meagre 2:21.9XX. Finishing around 35k ish overall is a bit meh, but at least I've bagged another silver. I'll head to Road Atlanta in my Focus soon - just need to buy a new one and find a reasonable livery to make.

Daytona Road Course TT will not be the one for me. I'm very much not that guy.

17.755 and rank 94th

So this is what a list of friends full of aliens looks like 😅

Congratulations on your performance, and also for the other drivers who pushed the limits.

This track is still very interesting and this NSX, a real pleasure to drive.

EDIT :
The Genesis X seems to be the meta for Daytona.

Too bad, it's probably the Gr.3 that attract me less.

Good morning Jomar. Well I certainly didn't hammer Spa, I chickened out and gave up because I didn't have what it took. I agree with you about the last chicane near the Fox Factory logo, it is evil and can destroy anybody's lap. It sucks. Here is my best and last lap at Spa if you guys want to see how I did, it wasn't easy but I made it in the 2'24.000 club. You'll see what parts of this track I struggled at. There were some hard obstacles too, avoiding the bollards was a pain in the rear end IMO.

Oh, I see what Famine was saying the other day, when I looked at Dan's replay I thought he was driving 250 MPH through Eau Rouge, but I saw it again and realized it was KM/H. Silly me, I barely was able to pass it in one peace. T2-T4 messed me up by those bollards being in the way. I should have been quicker there.

Wow know that's weird, Dan clocked the last Sector at 1'41.XXX and I clocked it at 1'46.316, I should have been 5 seconds behind him unless he flew through the last chicane before the finish. Beats me.

@Tidgney Can't wait to watch your guide and even use your ghost.

Oh look the Gr3 Racing Hard tyres on a common track is over, what could be coming next!?

Jim Carrey Reaction GIF

Quick dabble in the Genesis; I’m finding it a bit hard to find a shifting point, the rev counter is useless and the shift lights aren’t quite in my FOV in VR so I think I’m short shifting. It’s quite tail happy also so might be tricky for some. Decent start, I’m hoping to get well into the 1:44s 😁

Interesting lap, we have very similar sector 1 times but from there i found 2 more seconds for a 21.8. Looking as an independent viewer, you may want to try braking a touch earlier, you're missing a lot of apexes which is then causing you to blip the throttle on exit as you are on the wrong line and you're understeering. You also suffer from the same nervousness I do in terms of riding kerbs, we are not using enough of the track.

That'll prob be enough i think?,
Maby i'll try this one this evening if i have some time.
Looks like straight forward

🤧 still ill? , wish you the best buddy
All good! Thanks for asking :D

Gr3 cars are just not my thing. I'm sure I can get it down to the mid or even low 45s if I grind, but just don't feel like grinding lately 🫠 Gold and run it is!
