The Game Pass Rewards changed this week. Irritatingly, the new "4 pack" and "8 pack" rewards don't recognise any EA Play games, which means neither WRC and Grid Legends are recognised. Not sure if this is a "bug" or intentional, but it's costing EA logins and therefore money - please can you pass this on if you can @PJTierney

Is there something in the terms and conditions about this? I read that external launchers (Battle.net) don’t count but I don’t know if that extends to other third party services like EA Play.

Thanks a lot for the reply. The only change to terms and conditions flagged by MS was the requirement to be over 18 which is new.
I haven't read the T&C in detail yet - I'll see if I can find a summary of changes somewhere - however I know the EA Play games worked for the 5 point Achievement and 3 point "play a game pass game" rewards which existed prior to this Monday, so I guesstimate that it's not a T&C issue. (I was literally using Grid Legends story mode achievements to pop the Achievement rewards last week in the Cloud, along with playing that game for the 3 pointers).
The new rewards DO pop for Game Pass games in the Cloud, but DON'T pop for EA Play games in the Cloud, which is why I think this [might] be a bug.
I will try downloading a EA Play game (if I can find space on my Series S  ) to see whether it works that way.

EDIT - I installed Bards Tale Trilogy and that has popped the reward, so I think it should work on installed EA Play games.
Expect a sudden uptick in Bards Tale logins

Have just had a revelation with all games but this one in particular given the ‘performance issues’, and it’s one that I’m sure 100% of the rest of the forum had in about 2008. You can’t judge a game especially on technical stuff until you actually play it on a decent TV. We bought a new one after Christmas after our probably decade old Toshiba, which was rubbish even when it was new, stopped cutting it. And it's such a shocking difference.

So there we go, bring on Le Maestros. Please…..

I had the same experience when I bought a new TV black Friday 2023. The biggest difference being that it has HDR instead of just SDR.

All recent driving games look extremely dull and flat colour-wise without it (WRC, GT7, FH5, Grid Legends all rely on it).

I would argue that they shouldn't rely so hugely on HDR, which the majority probably still don't have and in most of the above examples, i would argue the current game actually looks WORSE or at least no better than the prior one in SDR because SDR just isn't factored into the game at all.

But when you do have HDR and a new TV, the colours absolutely sparkle.

It’s an LG OLED, so (once you get used to it not being as unnaturally bright), the colours and clarity are just amazing. Plus I’ve got VRR on, and it’s completely eliminated any tearing so far. Smooth, responsive, looks amazing, I genuinely think it’s improving my times too. I don’t think I can overstate just how awful my old TV was. It was 4k but it was one of the very earliest 4k TVs and had literally no other features. We got it free with a mobile contract a decade ago. So there I am judging the game for its technical issues without even thinking about how bad my setup was. I guess it’s like doing a road test on a Maserati without driving over 30.

A trailer for a trailer!! But still, good to see this is imminent. Looking forward to seeing which cars are included. My guess would be DS3, C3, Polo WRC and maybe a wildcard. If it's a French/Loeb/Ogier theme.

Given the name it surely has to be French content? Polo WRC is top of my wish list and the DS3 would be welcome as well. Seb 1 & Seb 2 liveries are a must, bonus Francois Delecour and Simon Jean-Joseph liveries also very welcome!

Yeah, sorry, my fault for not warning you
 Ha, no worries! As soon as it said "premieres" I remembered that the last couple of EA WRC trailers have been revealed the same way! Fingers crossed that we won't have long to wait for the content to be added to the game.
By the way, on Reddit they said that they have found in game files regarding the 1998 Escort and a unknown S1600 Peugeot.

Hard Chargers content ? :sly:
Oooooh, that is interesting. 1998 Escort would presumably be the Escort WRC, which would mean that I'd be expecting to the audio team to bring the noise.

S1600 Peugeot? 106 maybe?

I believe it was confirmed a while ago by one of the public facing devs or Jon Armstrong in an interview that it is French theme.

Files were found for the '98 Escort WRC and S1600 206, those files disappeared in the last update. Could be coming, could also not be coming. 206 S1600 would make sense in the French theme, Escort less so, perhaps a hard chargers pack car. Neither are a given however, could be for sound files or something, e.g. the Fabia WRC uses Octavia interior sounds.

I'm glad there's been an announcement with an impending trailer, the Discord speculation thread was just getting annoying, everyone is so impatient.

My wishlist/prediction:
Cars:
Citroen DS3 WRC with Loeb and Ogier liveries
VW Polo WRC with Ogier liveries
Citroen C3 WRC with Ogier livery
Peugeot 206 S1600 with 2006 Ogier Peugeot Cup livery
Citroen/DS 21

Liveries:
Xsara WRC: Loeb 2006
C4 WRC: Loeb Red Bull 2010, Ogier Citroen Junior Team 2009
Fiesta WRC: Ogier M-Sport 2017
206 WRC: Delecour 2000
207 S2000: Ogier 2009 (IRC Monte Carlo)
C2 S1600: Ogier 2008

Unlikely:
Citroen Saxo 1999 (pre-facelift): Loeb 1999
Skoda Fabia S2000: Ogier 2012
Renault Clio R3 or R4

I'm gonna say it: your wishlist is A little too optimistic, really cool but too good to be true :P

The first 3 cars you've listed are the most probable, and I think we are only getting 2 cars; that's it

100%, bring that noise.
Top five sounding rally car for me, ridiculously angry sounding in person...

...fingers crossed it part of the hard Chargers pack. Not an especially successful car, but still iconic (in my mind).
More likely the 206, as I don't think the 106 was homologated to S1600, while the 206 was.
Maybe optimism on my part there: I love a 106!

The C3 WRC would be good to boost a class which is a bit lacking at the moment but it is one of the least interesting WRCars to me (and I think a bit of stain on the Citroen reputation in WRC).

I really hope it’s more than two, but if it’s only two then I’d guess DS3 and Polo most likely, plus a bunch more Xsara and C4 liveries, maybe an Ogier livery for the Fiesta? I’m not expecting loads, but given the plan seems to be supporting and upgrading base game rather than standalone sequel, I’d hope for each update to be reasonably significant particularly given how this is being teased! Last update came with what, five cars? Yes they were mainly updates to existing ones, but they were all redone. Looking forward to seeing anyway.

OK, that was more than I was expecting. Obviously we knew about the new stages, but six cars is great:
  • WRC 2017-2021: Citroën C3 WRC
  • WRC 2012-2016: Citroën DS3 WRC ’12
  • WRC 2012-2016: Volkswagen Polo R WRC 2013
  • F2 Kit Car: Citroën Xsara Kit Car
  • S1600: Peugeot 206 S1600
  • Rally4: Citroën C2 R2 Max
Plus a load more liveries as well.

More than I expected, nice content.

That's more than I expected too and pretty nice stuff all round. Having the official liveries for the C4, the Red Bull Ford for Ogier, etc is almost as good as a new car too. Like the new cars, like the changes to car classes, I'd give that three thumbs up if I could. Two weeks, though!

Fully agree. Legit liveries for cars like the C4 makes all the difference to me.

Very impressed with this content I have to say. Very well done Codies. Makes the price we paid for the 2024 upgrade/content packs bundle a steal!

Scared how fast the Xsara Kit Car is going to be 😄

The C3 and DS3 were kind of expected but welcome all the same. Really happy with the other cars though. Xzara KC and 206 1600 especially.

Excellent content, love that there is a truckload of liveries being added, the Xsara KitCar is a very pleasant surprise and it is fantastic to see that the 1.6l WRC cars will gain their own class.

Bring on the 28th.

A Gilles Panizzi Impreza would have been the cherry on top, but I am still really happy with the additional liveries.

Couple of existing cars that I can't wait to switch liveries on!
