Glass Shatters On Impact?

Exactly. They have a plastic sheet between layers in them that prevents the glass from shattering and cutting you. This is especially common on newer model cars. Thats why you can kick out a front windscreen (windshield) in an event youre unable to escape the side of the car.

Depends on what you were after. Having the car flip and be totalled for being sideways on the grass really grated on me. Don't forget wheels flying off the car mid air. Car destruction was over done in Shift IMO. From memory, panel rubbing effects were OK though.

That was physics related not visual effects related. The visual effects like shattered glass, tyre blow out, crumbled metal were miles better than anything else on console, you also have mud and dirt being accumulated in real time in Shift 2. Shift 2 could easily compete with GTA 4 or Burnout Paradise in the damage modeling department, Grid was there too.

My idea: Glass shatters at any crashes/bumps when going at a speed over 26 mph. A very hard crash which completely turn your cars into a messy wreckage of scraps, and you would no longer be able to race. Although frustrating, it would go nice with endurance races. 👍

I hate how in GT5, you crash at over 250 mph on the Le Mans straight, and then all you see is a small poorly detailed dent. You'd expect it to be at the front... but NO! It's at the back. It's actually sad compared to Burnout Paradise, which has the most amazing crash physics, crash effects ever. Oh, and also, it has the best graphics, physics, I could go on and on. Oh, and don't start hating on Burnout Paradise. It's actually a good game, and people hate it for some reason. :guilty:

umm...The PC version of NFS Porsche Unleased had shattered windscreen and that was released about 13-14 years ago. Still the best NFS to date IMO.
