I don't like Auto manufacturers wasting so much time and money developing these offensive beasts when they could be spending that money on nice looking cars, or maybe cars that focus on having great gas mileage...and yes, I know SUV's bring in lots of money, unfortunately it goes straight back into building more of the damn things.[/qutoe]
You said it yourself, it makes money. Why the hell would a company stop making something that brings them money? You suck at economics don't you?
I don't like having to deal with the price of gas as it is, but having a ridiculously overinflated demand for it caused by the huge amount of SUV's driving around, sucking it down, just makes it that much worse, and that much easier for the oil companies to justify $3.00/Gallon...oh, and go ahead, tell me that Gas Prices wouldn't be lower if the average americans vehicle wasn't heading towards becoming an SUV with every passing day.
SUV's don't raise gas prices...the oil companies raise gas prices. You sound like that Hufington chick...so basically a dumbass. If you want to blame high oil prices blame OPEC, blame Exxon-Mobile, but don't blame SUV's. Hell what about people who drive semi trucks, they fill their trucks with diesel (still oil) but who cares. Plus I'm learning to live with the prices. And if you don't want to fill it up, don't buy one.
Again, I not only hate being in traffic with them, but it is INCREDIBLY rude and thoughtless to EVERYONE who doesn't drive an SUV.
Bigger Vehicle Rule...learn it. I'm rude in traffic because I'm just not a nice guy, but I yeild to bigger vehicles.
It is the same effect as me attaching 6 foot high walls to the hood and trunk of my car, with holes cut out so I can see through them, but heaven help the poor bastard behind me in a car who not only can't see the traffic in front of me through my windshield, but can't even see around the sides of my vehicle to see what is happening in the lane ahead.
If you can't see it's not my problem, I'm perfectly fine in a truck that sits low to the ground and it really little. I can see around Excurisons and Hummer H1's.
Have you ever been sitting in a little sedan in a right hand turning lane, looking to your left to see if traffic was clear, and had a monstrous wall of rubber and metal roll up next to you, right out into the crosswalk section, because lord knows, someone in an SUV cant be bothered to learn how to judge distances properly in their car, and left you sitting their holding up traffic behind you, because you can't get a proper sightline any longer?
Does it matter? You sit there for 10 more seconds, get over it.
Ever tried to merge out into traffic with an SUV beside you? It's like standing beside a guy who is juggling guns while wearing body armor...he's safe, but you just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Yes I have tried to merge into traffic, I just think you suck at driving because I don't have an issue.
SUV's have absurdly high centers of gravity, so people have to slow down to ridiculous speeds to turn...It's a crap shoot trying to figure out if you're in a lane that is going to randomly stop because someone in an SUV had to come to a complete stop before turning down a side street.
Some do, some do not. I can take a suggested 25mph on ramp at well over 50mph. I can't roll my SUV and a lot of SUV's are the same way.
Then, to make matters worse if you're sitting behind an SUV, you can't see the cars in front of it hitting their brake lights until the guy in the obscenity in front of you stomps on his massive brakes, hauling him down from speed, leaving you far less time than courtesy would normally have another driver provide you.
What are you tailgating our something? You should be able to stop in less time as well since your car weighs less. Momentum! Learn physics.
Oh, you ever been driving along, and had someone in an SUV ride right up on your ass, with just their headlights on, not even the brights? The damn things are aimed perfectly to go right into the back window of a passenger car, not to mention being huge and powerful, so brights or not, I'm blinded from the glare off my own mirrors, tinting or not.
Ever heard of a dual paned mirror? Every car has it, just flip the switch. I don't have a problem and my truck is lower then whatever you drive.
Ever found yourself wondering if the ass behind you in the SUV would be able to stop in time at a stoplight, or because someone in front of you had to slow to a crawl to make it into a driveway? It's pretty damn nerve wracking.
What do you care, he rear ends you its his fault. Plus you said SUV's can stop on a dime so it shouldn't be a problem now.
I can ALMOST understand why people drive them to feel safe, but it just makes the problem worse and worse, so every one of us to whom the idea is just as abhorrent as eating a small child alive is just left staring at a solid wall of SUV ass, either doing 15 over, or 5 under the speed limit, hoping for a break in traffic so we can put those hideous, and dangerous, things behind us.
I feel safe and I honestly don't care about the other guy. They can do what they like.
Why do people get to drive around in SUV's without being properly trained in how to handle such a huge and DEADLY machine?
License them, and I will shut up, until then, the Anti-SUV crusade continues, and hopefully gains strength.
No more deadly then a Caviler or a Civic.
Don't even get me started on the W stickers...
HAHAHA you just made an ass outta yourself because you brought politics into it. Get over it, Bush one and he has nothing to do with SUV.
But honestly you are the kind of people I would just like to shoot, your an asshat who thinks big vehicles kill people.
