Do you find it hard to race in a pack?
I've tried cockpit view, and I would love to use it more often, but I find the view limiting - my lap times sometimes cover my rear view mirror, and I don't have the greatest situational awareness. I seem to be a safer driver in bumper - but I handle the oversteer of a car much better in cockpit for some reason.
I found cockpit to have better viewing angles, you can judge he width of the car quite easily, you have mirrors and with radar you can easily judge what others are doing around you

I think the reason you can handle oversteer is the reason I can, you can see your steering inputs and so you know how much steering your putting in, you can also see the car moving more easily as it’s wrapped around your view

Nah i am used to it as i have been using it in many games for many years. Would like to have a virtual mirror but if the car has good cockpit mirrors i can manage just fine with that and radar. I have my screen sitting right behind my wheel though, if youre sitting further away it might not be optimal.

How big is your screen?

Been having a lot of positive experiences recently by sticking to the following self-imposed rules in Sport mode.

Gr.3 only
10 lap or highet only
At least 30 mins qualifying often more

Find myself starting top 6 most races now and very quickly got SR-S and seem to be finding my DR stabilising around low-mid B.

Finding GTS a joy now

I feel like I could have written this post, in exactly the same position mate and I agree it’s gotten much much more enjoyable

My contribution to the thread.
Many of my races are "good online experiences".
I'll try to remember to save more in the future.

For whatever reason, l decided to save this one.
Nope, l didn't win, but it's not always about winning.

I had lots of great races on brands hatch today, didn't bother making any pitstops in any of them because I only put a couple of laps into qualifying and was starting 18th each time against mostly DR:S/A
Every race I finished between 8th -10th
It's a shame really because I was wanting to drop some DR:B progress, but I kept beating my door number by a few places and am nearly up to DR:A again.

Havent raced last two weeks but two days back i returned behind the wheel and had another couple of good races. Got promoted to DR S on my 95th race :gtpflag:

I did have a bug kinda ruin one race though. Was in a battle on the last lap when the game bugged into ps menu. When i returned to the game i was cruising in options. Didnt knew the game brakechecked the guy till i watched the replay. He actually send me a message to apologise running into me. Send him a message back explaining what happened and sending my apologise to him. He didnt got a penalty and still finished behind me. Maybe i should have let him pass but didnt have much time left to think about it and was kinda stunned by the incident myself, oh well.

Aww yee congrats mate! damn, 95 races that's some work fair play mate! I hope in the new year I'll be able to get cracking and join you!
I'll crack on watching your vids now

Just had a cracker of a race!

Suzuka GR3 race 3. Me and one chap (I won’t name) had a brilliant race long battle for the win, I think the biggest the gap got was about a second and at the line I finished a tenth ahead for my first win since launch week!

I started p2, the guy leading spun at the start of lap2 and handed me the lead. I then tried to manage the gap to p2 and failed. I really struggled in the first sector compared to the 911’s I was racing but had enough grunt on the straights to hold on.
I boxed early and didn’t change tires, that handed the guy behind (who was faster) the lead. He boxed the following lap and I came out ahead, I assume he had fresher tyres (hence the longer stop).
I then had to hold on for two laps on worn Hards... man what a race!

What made it even better was after the race we (me and the guy I was racing) where left chatting in the lobby. Have to say, SR99 has produced some brilliant racing even for slow guys like me :D

Been doping this since forever. As soon as I saw the short faces were full of people trying to win in the first corner, I decided to go only for 10 lap races. With this decision I missed quite a few days because there were a lot of Gr.4 10 lap races full of Meganes and sometimes the Gr.3 / Circuit combo was really bad (Ovals for example).

Yeah you do end up missing out on a number of events, but I think it's made my overall experience much better

I've found the best bit about finally being at DR-A and also racing loads of DR-S is most people aren't overly obsessed with "winning at all costs" and are just trying to improve on their position bit by bit as they come and not crying about being overtaken. Start 11th finish 9th is a win in my book at that level. I also then get a GR message from the guy behind me that couldn't quite find a clean way past, having tried a couple of times and gone through a few corners side by side with me ending up the victor of the battles, no contact. That's what GTS Sport mode is all about for me. It's not the winning, if anything winning all the time is boring (Lobby mode some days).

Yeah that's what I've been doing (tho in DR-B as I suck :D).
I usually qualify within the top 10, at which point my goal is to try and make top 5, but not at all costs. If I qualify in the top 5 my goal is a (non existent) podium.

DR:B isn't bad! I was at DR:B forever, upper DR:B you get matched with DR:A and even some DR:S too which is nice.

Awesome races at Yamagiwa last night. Won 1 also. Some epic side by side racing. Just couldn't put down. That just one more race strecthed to 5 :P Pit Races are immense fun. Slowly i think PD will increase laps also as more people get used to it.

I saw many people running out of fuel in the last lap.

Yeah i also had some great races at Kyoto Yamagiwa. Drove the gr.4 TT cup for the first time, it hold up pretty good against fields of M4's. Qualified with a 1:39.8XX with a opt of 1:39:5XX. And managed to score another win. Also really liking they added pitstops.

I agree on sticking to the longer races. I might only race once or twice a week but when i do i do longer sessions of half hour to hour practice followed by 2-4 long races. I dont bother with the championships cause i cant drive daily.

Funny I started a thread with a video of a race to say the same thing and to show that there are plenty of good races to be had online.
