Goodbye! GT5 My Home and Photo Stream.

End of an era.

A great era at that.

Nice one, Madertus. 👍

Kind of sad that these particular Online functions are gone, but also excited at what GT6 may hold in store.

I'll continue to play GT5, though, merely because there are some events I want to beat - and then again nothing's for sure, I may not get very deeply into GT6 and could keep going back into GT5; I have a huge garage in there, and many new cars via DLC, since I only fully upgraded recently.
I'm beginning to notice more and more new players to GT5 visiting the Forums - certainly is strange when it seems like GT5 is done for 'everybody' - but apparently not so. The game is cheap now and PS3s are going cheap, too. Many scenarios that would include someone purchasing a copy of GT5 XL this season.
And then there are many GT5 players who are younger folk and may not be able to afford GT6 - may have to wait till it's some sort of 'gift-giving' occasion to receive it, and will have to continue playing GT5.

As to how long Sony will continue to carry support for the core Online Services is anyone's guess.

The faster GT6 takes off, the sooner GT5 will die. Breaking old connections before new ones are made is dangerous not just to social net-working but the the market in general.

For now GT5 My Home and GT5 Photo Stream are gone.

For one, thank you :)

Now - for some reason I find it really, absolutely downright sad.
One of my all-time favorite games is going to hell. It's actually dying before my eyes. This just... man! Thinking that I'll probably never even touch it again is not the best feeling as well.

I'll salute to Gran Turismo 5: The Real Driving Simulator until the end of my days. People may say what they want, but it truly is an earth-shattering game. It really is gonna leave a mark after itself. A big one. A mark of 10 million players enjoying the hell out of its 1100 cars, many tracks, many fantastic races, many great online memories.

Maybe it's just me being somewhat emotionally attached to a game (no surprise there, I have no friends), maybe it's just me overthinking this stuff. In any case, this is what I actually think about GT5's end.

I haz a sad now.
