That's not what I get from that at all.

This is what I understand of it:

- Free digital copy of the Apex book from PSN.
- Bunch of stuff in a GT 15th Ann. folder on PSN.
- New commemorative season events with prizes
- Diecast car prizes for random people that do said events.

Look at the bottom of the Gran-Turismo.com listing it says "Gran Turismo 5 Collectors Edition 2".

Not sure what that means as the translator kind of sucks with Japanese, but this is not a 2nd collectors edition release. It's as described above. Guaranteed. I'd say "I'd put money on that" but then someone would think I'm serious.

Edit: I figured it out by looking at the original text. See the asterisk next to the AutoArt X2010? The first asterisk is for that, and it means that it will be sent out when they are available. The 2nd asterisk is for the GT-R by Kyosho at the bottom there and it's just to say that it's the same GT-R that came in the collectors packs. (Matte Black with all the logos)

Collector Edition 1 would have only included the game, the APEX book, and a fancy package:

Many of my buddies never got a chance to purchase original CE and never got a book. This would be a great present to GT community worldwide.

Indeed. Maybe this is what Spartan meant by "not what you expect".
It certainly isn't what I was expecting, in fact, it's much better. Wishing to get at least the APEX book worldwide.

SO! I went over the Japanese store and found the APEX PlayView book. Download and installation went without a single problem.

However, the book is in Japanese. Changing the language of your XMB does no effect. Non the less, this thing is a beauty to look at!

The menus, music and fonts are all from GT5. So this feels just like an extension to the game itself. It is as if you never left the game in order to read the book.

Sadly, I personally believe this won't be available for other regions, and allow me to tell you why...
The "PlayView" category has been around for a very long time. Several books are available on the store. And yet, this product never entered the European nor American store. And I don't see this as enough reason for sony to develop an English version of it.

Besides, correct me if I'm wrong, was this book available in Japan to begin with? Because if not, it's only fair that this get exclusive to Japan only, even if most of us didn't get the chance of getting this book in the first place.

I've bought APEX book separately not long ago after GT5 release. It's because my collector edition is in Chinese which i don't understand. So, i've bought english APEX book in some Australian online shop.
What i wanna say: if you really want something, you will try to find the way to get it. If you still didn't get APEX book, then you don't need it much

I'm impressed that they will be picking random people who register their events online and giving away 60 AutoArt die-casts, those things are about $300 each, so the most I remember them giving away (besides the SLS AMG winner in Europe) is a wheel. It's nice they will not be going to top drivers, so it'll be more like Christmas for perhaps some of the lousiest driver out there...

Well, all things considered, we (as in, Europe and America) had several exclusive competitions.

• GT Academy
• Collectors Edition
• AMG Challenge
• Stealth/Chrome cars
• Exclusive competition for the Academy edition

While Japan only had the chrome line cars given for free (because they were never released in Japan before that), the Toyota competition, the Red Bull 5G, and a look-alike GT Academy competition (for the first time).

And this is the country where the game was born. It's not fair to turn back against the local fans. Can't blame them for making this prizes Japan only.
We got the chance to become REAL race drivers! They didn't.

Same here! I also discovered the free CL cars in the PSN Store and downloaded them along with the Apex Mag, but the CL cars won't appear in my GT5 when I fired it up on the new japanese account. Anybody know if there is the chance to get them?

off topic: Well after looking at the nice pics in the APEX Book (PlayView is awesome, why can't we have it?) I decided to sneak through the japanese PS Home ending up chatting with a couple of very nice japanese women in red and white Santa-Bikinie's at a beach scenario.

It does seem rather odd that they're only celebrating this event with Japan. Do they think the ROW don't care about the anniversary? There is no mention of it even happening on the UK site.

At lease you guys over in the UK got all of the Stealth cars here in the US we only got the Mercedes, Mclaren, Honda, and Nissan- but no Mazda or Audi. You guys also got he chromline Jaguar.
