Welcome to the Gran Turismo 4 Project Reality Mod.

Click here to view pictures of the cars as I add them.

Seems all the hype these days is about making mods for Gran Turismo 4, so I'm joining in.

Since GT7 came out, I haven't been able to make as many complex liveries as I did in GT Sport.
My main focus this time around has been around license plates. Yaaay (the irony) I hear you say. Hear me out.
I'm going to add license plates to the cars in Gran Turismo 4. Maybe fix a realistic livery here and there. But mainly the license plates.

  • What kind of license plates?
Real license plates, of course! Plates that belong to the same car in real life.
  • Which country?
Any, really!
  • The resolution in Gran Turismo 4 is poor. Why make details that won't be seen?
Yes, yes it is. I still make high quality plates, as best I can.
  • Why?
Because I want to. It looks good even in 64x32. Trust me.
  • How do I get these plates?
Check attached zip file*, all sorted in folders so you know which car it belongs to. Sometimes a duplicate happens, and that's a good thing. It saves me time making them. Let's face it. GT4 has a lot of cars (and duplicates)!
*This zip file will be replaced every now and then with new cars added.
  • Which game version is it for?
I'm using the US Online Public Beta version(MD5: 3306538778dda2ded87ceaf52c944a98) and Spec II mod.
  • My car is in the game. Can you add my plates (and stickers etc)?
Yes, of course I can! Just send me the necessary photos I need to make it. (or add it in your post) The resolution of the photo is not so important for GT4, if it was for GT7 I'd ask for as high resolution as possible. Just the correct angle is enough.

So if anyone is interested. Watch this space and I'll try to update it every week or so.
I found out earlier this year I have ADHD, so I have tons of projects and ideas I work on simultaneously, which makes me forget super easily. Don't hesitate to tag me and remind me to throw in an update in case I forget. If this project is remotely interesting, of course. Real plates makes the immersion better, in my opinion.

I respect others opinions that it doesn't matter, but if you don't care or think it's a waste of time, don't comment.
I do this mainly for myself, and want to share with other detail freaks like myself. :D

Without further ado let's get it.

I actually really like this. Little thing, but it's always something I like doing in GT7 too - it makes things look much nicer. Great work.
Thank you Sir!

Insignificant to some but very immersive to me, glad to see more people who appreciates these tiny details.
Pretty sure some of the plates I made in GT7 have higher amount of detail than some liveries in the discovery section

Zipped up the first batch of cars now!

Update to OP: Banner, link to a Flickr gallery with previews and an attached zip file with all I've made so far is up.

Supergramps in all its glory. For all the MCM fans out there, if you know, you know.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I will update OP later to make sure everything is easy to understand etc.

Eyelids, bonnet stone guards and other things will be made for select cars. Here, an angry SRT4!

Some cars will have a few "extra" things considered "realistic", not for everyone but then they can choose to not include it. Better to have it than add it in later. So far these extras only work on one color. If you want it in another color, I can fix that.

Will update OP tonight when I get more cars done today.

The Prancing Moose. This car is very popular among the younger generation in rural parts of Norway.

Did I mention that if you own a car that's in the game and you want me to add the plate(and other details that it might have) to this collection, let me know and I'll get it done.
