When I first got the game 2 years ago (Christmas 2011), it ran just fine. Although I stopped playing it from late winter-2012 (around February), until about October-November 2012. It ran fine until a month or 2 ago the load times were REALLY slow (and still are obviously). Anything from loading a new menu, to pressing left in the dealership to move to a new manufacture. I've cleared my cache once, and went to the Safe Mode menu or whatever it's called to rebuild the files, that didnt work. Then I went to the drastic measure of losing everything and restoring my whole PS3 in general. After that it still runs slow but not as slow as it used to, but it still isn't fast like when I first got it. It's slow when I'm connected to PSN and when I'm not.

Help?

I cleaned my disc (it was a little dirty), and I only mainly play on PSN :/ so disconnecting is not really an option. I would get a new disc but I dont want to risk in buying a new one just for it not to fix the problem and waste precious money. lol

Could I clean the Blu-Ray laser? How would I do that?

Bro I have a solution for this. This happened to me few months ago. Loading times were extremely slow and most of the time the game would freeze. I tried everything, from clearing the cache, going offline to restoring my ps3. Nothing happened. Then I thought my last guess would be the hard drive. Hard drives tend to become faulty when you have them for a long time. They don't last forever. I bought a new 7200 rpm hard drive, which is faster than the previous one. My problem was solved! The loading times offline and online became very fast. I hope this will solve your problem bro. So yea try replacing your hard drive and see what happens from there :dopey:

How much is one? Lol I have a 320GB Uncharted 3 Model that I really didn't play to be honest, I just played GT5 one day and got hooked for a month or 2 then it started being slow.

They are very easy to install. No rocket science needed. If you need on installing it, youtube is your friend.

Hmm I might have to pick one up next weekend when I get paid. Thanks for the advice bro! I'll be sure to let you know if this fixes it, which I'm sure it will.

I don't know if this will work or if it only helps online, but maybe if you clear the cache in the options menu it would make GT5 run faster. I haven't cleared mine in a while.

Where would I do that? Like what would I click and stuff?

And if you're talking about deleting the Game Data, that wont do anything. I just restored my PS3 2 days ago

In your GTHome go to the settings tab which is above the save button. Click on settings then there would be a little list of menus and you click "options." Then when in the options menu scroll all the way down and go to utilities if I'm correct and press "Clear system cache."

You should inform OP that doing this will completely wipe out any data he has stored, so backing up everything to an external drive is an absolute must 👍
