Ok I have to ask why my post got deleted because I was certain that even though it was a somewhat unfriendly post towards a certain individual, there was nothing in it that violated the AUP in any way...

It was either of these problems with your post;
a) It was abusive and uncalled for
or
b) Off-Topic

Now, can we get back to the memes?
That last one... that's a bit... Uh... dark...

EDIT- Nevermind, didn't see the link to the reference. :embarrassed:

If the majority of people in this forum interpreted my post as either of those things I'll eat my scumbag hat.

Yes, I will get back to the memes. I'm sure I'm not the only person who wanted the forced tutorial to stop being so heavy-handed at the beginning of the game, and this image pretty much sums up what I thought of it;

....except that wonder woman view ("Bumper cam") totally undermines the comment. It'd be like turning on all (or even any of) the other aids (SRF, ASM, AS, DL) and then pulling the Kimi.

It was the best image I could find of the GT6 'tutorial' on the internet at the time. My source was GTPlanet itself, though I'm sure that it's origin is elsewhere since the text is all ancient Japanese runes...

I use a DS3 and Chase Cam myself, which is bound to get me thrown out of a window by racing purists;

I also use the DS3, but if i was in a situation where Purists heard me say that i use a DS3 in a however-many-stories story building, i would just go "YOU WILL NEVER CATCH ME ALIVE!!!" and skidaddle outta here!

Not everyone has $600-$900 for a high end 900* wheel and race seat and stand set up. Many of us are forced to make do with DS3s due to living on our own and having real world expenses, myself included. Less than ideal, but you make do.

Chase cam however..... Sounds like maybe Gran Turismo 6 is not the game for you. Maybe Need for Speed or Wipeout, or Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing or something like that might be better. :P

(BTW, chase cam, while being nauseatingly arcade, also actually makes it more difficult to get nuanced control of the vehicle, while simultaneously flushing any and all sense of immersion. Interior is the only way to go, even if it's only blacked out in some cases [I just try to avoid standards, in GT5 I called them B-Spec cars].)
