This is the car I'm most excited about. I just went on a spending spree that took me below 20m, but I have time to get back to that level for this one car.

Pretty sure that's a Jimny as it's the only truck that looks like that with four wide bulges along the roof. Wrangler, Bronco, 70, G Wagen all don't have that.

I like the cars but the usual moan - still no new Gr3s.

I have a theory about the disproportionate absence of new Gr.3 cars, based on the premise of what happened in the interregnum between GT6 and GT Sport.

Note that GT6 was launched in 2013 and GT Sport in 2017. In theory, in four years, PD produced (digitized) a significant number of Gr.3 and Gr.4 cars, including fictional racing cars. These cars did not appear in GT6. Several racing cars debuted in the franchise in GT Sport.

Therefore, I suspect that PD is stockpiling the newest and most diverse racing cars for GT Sport 2, perhaps a game dedicated to eSport, as Kunos did with ACC, or even being stockpiled to use them to attract buyers of GT8.

In any case, given the systematic absence of Gr.3 and Gr.1 cars in the updates, I think that this PD policy is not accidental.

Whoa! The Cossie Escort is coming, hell yeah!
I hope that it will be an earlier model (92-93) depicting a blue top YBT T34 rather than the 94-96 silver top YBP and smaller turbo.
I also hope that PD have modeled the latter model small wing (the whale tail was optional on those late models) and the WRC spoiler. And the widebody recreating the WRC shape

I don't really care for the Mission X especially since Porsche has decided to scrap the competition against the Ferrari and McLaren hyper cars...

Am I the only one here who is thinking "Oh, is that it?" People are getting mega excited about the Escort RS Cosworth but it really doesn't interest me that much. Sure, it's a nice enough car but nothing special. Two more Porsches I just find a little boring tbh. Another Jimny and a W196 Merc? Fair enough.

Quite frankly, I have been more impressed with Forza Motorsport's last update and current update with the Mustang Dark Horse, 95 SVT Cobra, 1970 Mustang Boss Trans-Am and the Saleen S302 Black Label. And I'm not even a massive fan of US cars in general either.
When PD mess something up, they don't do things by half, do they? 🤣🤣

I will say this much given my post the other day: it definitely meets my criteria for being a fairly unique update.

The Escort Cosworth has been in a few things; the 992 Turbo just got added to Forza Horizon. I believe the other three cars are making their sim racing debut.

GT is an interactive car museum. People need to stop treating the game like it’s supposed to be some virtual equivalent of real world racing series. GT7 has like five different Group C cars, but the game doesn’t formally recognize them as such anyway. This alone should tell you that the W196 doesn’t need competitors for it to make sense. Cars are cars and how exactly they compete or have competed in reality isn’t the main concern. GT is more about honouring their existence, like a museum.
