To drum up some fun relevant conversation:

Anyone have examples of the Escort for GT/Road race use? All I can think of is its use in rally. @05XR8 I know you're pretty good at this stuff.

If so, I hope to see some good liveries.
Would games count?

I really hope we DON'T get a 20,000,000 price tag for a car in this update. As someone two years behind already, I appreciated none of the DLC cars having that and would REALLY prefer it to stay that way. I barely was able to get the F1 Road car.
The Merc has got to be 20 million? I hope it is anyway. I've got a 100 million credits and no reason to play the game at the moment.

Look up Gatebil.

Pretty sure we can have some fun on tarmac in this car.. ;) Doesn't get much better than an ex WRC legend turned into a drift machine :D

You’d have to Google Carlos Palau. He raced some 4WD Fords in Spanish Touring Cars. Other than that, older Escorts may have to used as inspiration for liveries, if rally liveries are not preferred.

Ok, i have read the article and went through all the following posts and I am pleased in what I can expect. The Cossie is great but being an American I have little real life experience with this but know it well from magazines and such. What i am really excited for is the Merc W196R Monoposto, I love the older GP cars and wish for more. As for the remaining, I will enjoy but the Merc is my joy.

If its the Porsche mission x it will surely be dissapointing, i dont find ev intresting at all, Porsche 992 turbo s and Ford Escort cosworth will be nice through,

It feels to me all the nicest and coolest cars will be hold off until gt8 arrives.
Their is no question thst pd has more content than they have released.

I wonder what the engine swaps will be? It would be cool if they had one for the Escort & the Sierra. Also still holding out hope that Tuscan gets a 2nd swap with a V12 . I guess we have to wait and see

Why? The update below was released more than two years ago in 2022, and I’d argue its car lineup was worse than the update coming next week:

Only the S14 Silvia seemed in tune with Gran Turismo’s essence. Though, many great cars followed in subsequent months. For example, earlier this year they added Toyota GT-One and Castrol NSX GT500.

GT7 content updates have always balanced themselves in between cool cars and kinda meh cars. The cars coming in the next update are no different to how it’s always been. To some people it doesn’t get much better than the Escort RS Cosworth, or the latest 911 Turbo. Forget GT8 for now.

Sierra definitely. It has to match the swaps for the other Group A cars. It’s not making sense as the only car from the era not having a swap(yeah, the Volvo can be included in that, but it’s not really thee Group A style two-door Turbo)

…And is that a bad thing? Who wants a new game with 0 new content?

But this is only speculation at this point. GT8 hasn’t even been mentioned yet. Be happy they still provide updates to the game we have, and look forward to the nostalgic My First Gran Turismo demo coming next month instead.

I still cant stop wondering how a game like GT makes all Fords "american"..🫠
It has to be. Ford is absolutely an American brand (Dearborn is still in Michigan, USA, right?) and it's incredibly murky and subjective when you start assigning different nationalities to different cars under the same brand, especially with modern cars where they can be and often are a collaboration between multiple teams in multiple countries. Is the 2017 Honda NSX American? Are most recent Vauxhalls German? Is this Escort RS supposed to be German or British? Cars don't need to have assigned nationalities, but I get why PD does things the way they do. Plus, they can design events differently to have classic Minis race with other classic British cars and have Escort RSs eligible to race in European hatchback events.
It would be so cool if the middle one is the new W1. I know it isn't...

That's not a real car though and won't be for some time yet. It'll be at least another 18 months before the W1 goes into production. Until the production version is finalized, this is basically just a concept car or prototype. Personally, I'd rather wait for the real thing.

This update contains (we presume) one of the most legendary classic racing cars around, a car which was in the conversation among motoring enthusiasts last month as the third pending car of the next hypercar holy trinity after Ferrari unveiled the F80 and McLaren the W1, and one of the most-requested vehicles in our Suggestions forum.

Seems like a nice, cool set to me. But then again...

Amazing selections all around, but I'm particularly keen for more JIMNY! Wooo!
Very keen to drive around in a bigger-engined Aussie spec Jimny with (completely inaccurate) full-time 4WD so I don't destroy the axles when I turn a corner at 140.
It'll also be nice to try a modern 4WD 911 at the Nürb, and the classic GP racer if I can afford it.
I assume this is our early Christmas present and there'll be no further update this year?

So, by Likes, the Escort is thirteenth on the list.

I don’t know if we’ll ever see the 12C GT3, but the P1, Konigsegg and M1 would be nice ways to polish off the top 10 suggestions.
