Use whatever argument you wish to defend it, its your choice

But the fact that only ONE new track was added to this game this entire year is borderline embarrassing and inexcusable at this point from PD, either it 100% confirms they are deliberately holding them back for GT8 or they have basically given up on this game as a whole and find absolutely zero purpose in adding new courses for a game that will be dead in 2 years time

Apricot Hill which was literally teased before launch? Yea say goodbye to that cause they are locking that till GT8

Red Rock? Yea never happening at this point

Pikes Peak? Thats just nothing but a complete illusion

Anything else IMSA related besides Road Atlanta? Not happening till GT8 at this point so forget about Sebring

They've clearly however given a bigger damn about adding 500+ new scape areas that half the playerbase doesnt care about so at least there's that excuse

No word on PS5 Pro enhancement. Will they postpone it FURTHER?! I would assume PDI making it a headline feature if it was in the update.
I think it doesn’t make headlines because Kaz has emphasized that GT7 performance has been developed to be scaleable across different PS systems. You can interpret it as a philosophy where PD doesn’t want players to overthink where they are playing the game with regards to technicalities like resolution and FPS.

I just turned on my console, and it says it's doing a 32GB update for GT7.
That seems like a lot.
Yup. Covered earlier in the thread, and here:

I have done a few times, maybe the UK doesn't have the option yermt. Thanks though.
It does - I did it. The screenshot from the article is my own console.

You may find it in your Downloads section already, and it may be queued if you don't have enough space to download/install it.

Genuine question... why?

I'd love some more tracks too but I don't follow what makes it embarrassing / inexcusable?

And yet, you see people basically worshipping Kaz like a god all day. This is the reason GT as a whole is NOT going anywhere in the future, because no matter how little their post-launch support is, people will treat it as absolute perfection. GT8 won't bring the series back to form, nor will any game after it (if there will even be anymore lol).

PD stopped caring about the community a long time ago and they recently started straight making fun of the players with posts such as the "have you tried mileage missions?".

"But the updates are free!!!"

Is any mentally sane person really willing to pay real money for these updates? 🤣

I completely agree. The fact that the track list basically doesn't change over the years and we drive the same tracks in each successive edition of the game, often losing some tracks in successive editions is sad.
Such a track base simply gets boring over the years.
If they can't afford licensed tracks, they should make at least 2-3 original race tracks per year.

They might be a poor selection of new wheels, but one of the sets is a steel wheel lookalike. The fun I'll have with those!
Indeed! A most welcome addition.
Next up: Borrani style wire wheels?
Could use those on several classics myself. Most notably: Toyota 2000GT and as DB5 ”+1” upgrade.

The social media posts you see on the various Gran Turismo accounts are not made by PD. They come from an external agency contracted by SIEE.

There's plenty of live service games where whales pay real money for less (I'm thinking specifically of Fallout 76)
There are yes, but i don't think (at least i hope so) that a lot of people would pay to only get a bunch of cars and scapes. Unless you're talking with people who grind credits all day, wouldn't wanna miss doing Tokyo for 10 hours in a single day with the new cars!! Because this is what GT is truly about!

Is it just me or was 911 Turbo styling more distinctive and thereby cooler before the 992 generation? I blame the understated rear wing. The rear wing was a big styling cue on older Turbo variants. The 992 looks like it would prefer if people didn’t notice. I’m not saying it needs a GT3 RS-sized wing, but rather that older Turbos had wings that screamed: “Look at me, I’m the mythic Turbo!”. I sadly don’t get that vibe from the 992 Turbo, and it’s ironic considering the fact that even the Carrera is turbocharged nowadays.
