Its a monster! They want it to be a live service, but it is not. They want to keep milking it, but they give you droplets. They want to keep it going for long, but they don't add meaningful content. They want to hold back, yet they make you believe more is coming. They want to be profitable, but they don't charge for worthy content they add. Its all so freaking confusing. There is a lack of a clear vision and a direction where they want this "thing" to go. It has everything but it has nothing. They want it to keep it alive, but they barely give it some oxygen. I feel really disappointed and mocked. Corporate greed kills innovation and creativity.

Use whatever argument you wish to defend it, its your choice

But the fact that only ONE new track was added to this game this entire year is borderline embarrassing and inexcusable at this point from PD, either it 100% confirms they are deliberately holding them back for GT8 or they have basically given up on this game as a whole and find absolutely zero purpose in adding new courses for a game that will be dead in 2 years time

Apricot Hill which was literally teased before launch? Yea say goodbye to that cause they are locking that till GT8

Red Rock? Yea never happening at this point

Pikes Peak? Thats just nothing but a complete illusion

Anything else IMSA related besides Road Atlanta? Not happening till GT8 at this point so forget about Sebring

They've clearly however given a bigger damn about adding 500+ new scape areas that half the playerbase doesnt care about so at least there's that excuse
I could overlook the lack of new tracks if they at least added more weather / tod options for the ones already in the game. Sophy for tracks also got stale for me as additions unless they let you customize the lap count at some point, I don't play the game to do 3 lap races

Agreed, I would get a lot more mileage out of the existing tracks if they all had weather. Still dreaming of Deep Forest in the rain....or even a special snow version. It is up in the alps, after all.

As a die-hard Porsche fan, I genuinely don’t understand why Polyphony Digital opted to use the Normal mode of the Turbo S instead of the Sport mode (or even Sport Plus). This point is equally valid for the 992 GT3 RS (especially given the purpose of the GT3 RS)

I assume the “monster” is GT7, or? Whether or not the content is meaningful is very subjective. The cars may not resonate with you, but it’s quite clear that PD aims to celebrate automotive standouts, building the car roster bit by bit. More than ever before I’d say, because with GT7 they are trying harder to deliver the classics and icons. GT6 had a bigger car list, but it wasn’t as focused.

Where they want it to go? I think GT7 is already where PD wants it to be - at least for the short term. It’s only a work in progress in terms of adding content.

Why everytime after updates they add ONLY 3-5 races!!!!
I can create 3-5 races in hour!!!!!!
PD rent me!!!!!

Hey, was wondering when you'd finally return to paragraphs of whining and moaning and posting your rant as if it were 100% fact because you didn't get what you wanted and as per the norm nowadays, hide behind the "Don't they care about the community" crap. We've truly come full circle

Is it just me or was 911 Turbo styling more distinctive and thereby cooler before the 992 generation? I blame the understated rear wing. The rear wing was a big styling cue on older Turbo variants. The 992 looks like it would prefer if people didn’t notice. I’m not saying it needs a GT3 RS-sized wing, but rather that older Turbos had wings that screamed: “Look at me, I’m the mythic Turbo!”. I sadly don’t get that vibe from the 992 Turbo, and it’s ironic considering the fact that even the Carrera is turbocharged nowadays.
ALl 992s are ugly in my eyes, but yes I agree with you. Turbos used to have their intercoolers where the whale tail was. But they stopped doing that (after the 996 generation, or maybe it died with the aircooled 993 before that).

I don't know much about the corporate greed, the MTX is bad sure, but they are free updates with mostly reasonable car prices. You hit something right with the duality of GT7 but i think the answer can't be simply boiled down to greed. It's all a bit weird/off kilter and PD has always been like that in some shape or form

There are yes, but i don't think (at least i hope so) that a lot of people would pay to only get a bunch of cars and scapes. Unless you're talking with people who grind credits all day, wouldn't wanna miss doing Tokyo for 10 hours in a single day with the new cars!! Because this is what GT is truly about!
Show me where Kaz hurt you… brother just stop playing if you’re this bitter about it

The social media posts you see on the various Gran Turismo accounts are not made by PD. They come from an external agency contracted by SIEE.
You've informed us about this before but it slipped my mind, thanks for the reminder.

It still shows me that there is a tone deafness, apathy, or an outright refusal to acknowledge the state of the community. I also acknowledge the possibility that some of us are in the extreme minority.

Nothing worst then telling others how they should play the game.👎

I think I have time to make breakfast too from scratch; you know, get to the local farm for eggs and milk and wait for some fresh bacon too, get back and buy flour and buttermilk and bake some biscuits, then chop some veggies for a western style scrambled eggs and have a very relaxing morning.

Now, what to do for the remaining 46 hours, that is the question 🤣🤣🤣

(Serious update, it’s now on 4 hours left!! Still a go on my breakfast plans 🤣)
You might need to upgrade to a 56kbps modem 😉 The update downloaded for me in a touch over 15mins.

Probably they needed to adjust some of the assets for the pros RT features and/or more likely for the usage of the PSSR upscaling.
Sad thing is that we won’t get to know any of these details from Polyphony. Sometimes it’s sad when you see that other devs and studios are so open with such news in their patchnotes and blogs.

How do I get to pre-download this? I can see other people already downloading it but I have nothing I can see to do it myself.
I am in the UK, are we still waiting for it?

We are not; the screenshot in the article is mine.

If you are on PS5, it'll be in your Downloads and either already downloaded or queued. If it's queued you don't have enough storage space to download it so free some up.

It isn't available on PS4.

I wonder if its a licensing thing that the only Hypercar/LMDh rep is the Toyota GR010...

Iirc GT has a deal with IMSA but so does Forza and Forza doesnt have a problem putting in IMSA cars. But with WEC, due to the Le Mans Ultimate game, could it have exclusive rights? So if you include one Hypercar/LMDh from WEC you can't include anymore that it can race against like how non F1 games can only put 1 modern F1 car in the game?

Could be completely wrong but a lack of LMDh/Hypercar rep EXCEPT for the GR010 makes me curious.
If that was the case it would be easy to circumvent that clause my licencing the IMSA Cadillac, Porsche, BMW, etc.

iRacing has several IMSA licenced LMDH cars and is getting the WEC Ferrari 499P.

Wow, the Crying with thia update is going beyond my understanding, someone on facebook told me than the 992 Turbo S is just a reskined beetle🤣🤣🤣

Edit: also the same person told me the Escort RS is a dup with the Sierra RS500 and also that is impossible to get 20M credits to buy an useless old car🤣🤣

I have a PS5, it isn't in my downloads, either, that is why I am asking.
I have had Gran Turismo 7 since day 1 and play almost every day

Highlight GT7 in the XMB and press start to bring up the menu, then select Check for Updates.

Furthermore I hope that they do not remove the current graphic modes.
The 4K mode runs nearly flawlessly with a steady 100-120 fps now on the pro. That’s smooth as hell.
Having RT in the game and hopefully improved lightning and track detail will also help nice but this will most likely being capt at 60 fps or slightly higher with VRR.

As a mostly-functioning human, I wonder why they don't give us the ability to switch between modes in cars that have it. It's a video game, they can do almost anything they want. Why can't I put the top up in an MX5? Why can't I put the gauge cluster in the LF-A into comfort mode? I understand it's more work to implement, but it sure would increase immersion.

The next big ? is what engine swaps we will get.

Will the Subies finally get something.
Maybe a hefty engine for the Volvo Brick...

The Volvo badly needs some mad engine swap options. V10 from BMW E60 M5? 2JZ? Typical LS swap? Hell, I really want to see the Ford Barra added as an option - complete with possible four-figure power numbers.

Ford Escort RS Cosworth 1992: Nice addition, very welcome
Mercedes-Benz W196R 1955: Ok an old F1. Another 20M car?
Porsche 911 (992) Turbo S 2020: I prefer this "standar" model than the GT3RS
Porsche Mission X Concept 2023: This is not a Vision Spaceship GT style?. But if you add a Porsche Concept why no the 911 GT1 1998, Macan, Panamera. Cayenne, 928 or Boxster first.
Suzuki Jimny Sierra JC 2018: I never understand why PD do this.

Ok update i guess, nothing impressive but some good cars in there.
Mercedes-Benz W196R 1955: Ok an old F1. Another 20M car? - as a casual player this will be beyond the depth of my pockets - shame as its really nice car - maybe a nice touch would be to throw it in as a rare-to-be-issued "gift car"
Porsche 911 (992) Turbo S 2020: I prefer this "standard" model than the GT3RS - ive read this will be fast - id like to see it faster than the other 911/2`s with all their extra upgrades fitted to make it a bit special
