I already see the usual trouble around this update…
I think there won’t be any big or substantial. We get the 4 new cars, probably a handful of new events and that’s it. Hopefully some visual fixes and improvements especially for the ps5 pro.

Any updates for b-spec or a new track would have been called as a „big update“ by Kaz.

It may be a naive question, but are all update threads filled with so much negativity? I haven't been following them this closely lately.
To be fair:

-they borked the logitech guys nerfing true force.
-fanatec: new sdk languishing for over a year. Ffb bouncy and weird coming out of the corners as the weight unloads in bouncy steps. Meh on braking ffb. And of course not even a swing at full force.
-straight line oscillations rocking thousands of dollars of kit..and dental fillings…
-the perpetual bouncy bouncy of the physics engine not being addressed, except for a few sort of effective band-aids.

I can go on..oh yeah, most of this stuffs been broken in one way or another, with very little in the way of fixes, or explanations, since July.

These are things which suck the fun out of playing, and while the games fairly good…this stuff isn’t, and has lasted for far too long without effort being made. Instead we get…scapes..

-also..that pd really only take a swing at these issues during these update patches is frustrating. Waiting a month or two only to see something like: ‘fixed ev refueling,’ kinda burns my toast.

—ps: the idea of them wasting resources on something like b-spec when this stuff persists this long is also maddening. We are at fix your 💩 pd, not broaden the game 🤬

Not necessarily the case. This was the Tweet ahead of the June 2022 update (1.17) which added Watkins Glen:

The last one (1.49) we didn't get a Tweet at all (because it was all revealed three weeks ahead of time at Montreal), 1.40 with Lake Louise was teased as "big" but then it was also Spec II, the one before that (1.29) with Grand Valley was also "big" but then it was also the PSVR2 and Sophy update, and the one before that was the 1.26 update with Road Atlanta and called a "25th Anniversary update".

Im not too sure why PD (GT franchise specifically) can be one of the main sponsors of a globably reknown racing event and not feature the actual course in their game. Its actually quite humourous.

If Pikes Peak does not apear in this update, i shall be writing a strong letter.

I probably won't, i'll just fire up the joy machine and play the game as normal.

Honest question, especially aimed at those in charge of Silverstone and other tracks around the world, who potentially roam around here...:

Isn't there a common in interest in having your tracks featured virtually , especially on one of the most popular and well designed and well received video games ?

I understand from a legal and financial standpoint you want to have licenses set up and be compensated for being featured, but at the same time:
Aren't you doing more harm to yourself and to the community at large by holding back ...

It serves no real purpose to prevent more people from accessing what is seen as a public service (most likely the wrong word choice here).... But I think and hope you understand what I am trina get at .

The more exposure you get virtually or socially, the better attention you will get and appreciation from the public, in education and respect you will get and the more publicity you get for live events in the real track ? No ?

I would imagine licensing wouldn't get you as much money as live events in the actual track no ?

At what point does a virtual tracks becomes a bigger business than the real track itself ?
If so, then why not just license fictive tracks instead of having real track to manage....

Maybe the community here should star creating fictive tracks and sell the license back to PD and Kaz lol 😀

I am here just trying to point out some counter intuitive decisions made that are hurting more society at large than it necessarily needs to be ...

Why hold back , for marginal gains?!
Pride or ego ?

How about betterment and enjoyment of society ?
Money can't surely buy everything, and even if it was the case, why go that route?
Or am I just a hopeless eternal romantic?
Putting the licensing issue aside - the last track data they have is from 2011/2012. I'd expect they'd want to update that (despite not updating Le Mans and I expect some other circuits) and that may well be a cost or logistical issue they don't want to negotiate. Spa and Fiji have been updated relatively recently - but even Spa is now out of date

The fact that the leakers are quiet leads me to believe there is nothing to leak.

So this is probably indeed just a regular update.

But with a 90s F1 car - woohoo...!!
I think they already confirmed that there's no track in the update, and also no event for the F3500😞

Oh did they? They just can’t stop themselves from sucking the fun out of everything can they? The “I know something that you don’t” is a powerful drug.

Guess we'll truly find out tomorrow when trailer drops🤣.
What really leaves me speechless is that cars like the 60s Le Mans cars and F1 cars (potentially including the F3500 from what leakers said) STILL don't have their dedicated event in the single player career. Even GT Sport had one-make events for cars like F1500 and X2014 junior for example.
I wonder if it's because they're saving all these events for GT8 or they simply don't like the idea of having them anymore. 🤔

As far as I am aware, none of us have said anything.

But what on earth is this attitude? We couldn't win either way? "Oh noone has said anything so that leads me to believe it's regular" "Oh they confirmed something so they're fun suckers"

Like, what? Get a grip lol.

Weird take of what I wrote.

Here’s how everybody wins:

Nobody leaks anything and we all find everything out at the same time 👍

But to be honest mate, I like to know just for curiosity I'm at an age where something about a computer game isn't like Xmas when I was younger.

There is no statement that can truly cover "everybody"

Here's what would be fairer to everyone:

Transparency from PD (like Kunous have published their top level road map, the F1 calendar for the year is published)

This way people could look if they want or not look if they don't want?

But you're out here speculating that because nothing has been said, the update isn't going to be interesting?

It just doesn't make sense from a base level. You don't want leaks yet at the same time rely on the behaviour of leakers to form your judgement. There's been nothing to engage with but you still take the opportunity to snap at people. You come across as bitter.

And what does that have to do with leakers?

Eh?

Leakers leak info they gleaned to share with those that want to know?

You said "here's how everyone wins" I said that if they published the roadmap or were transparent inferred....there would be nothing to leak??

And those interested could look those not interested don't have to?

What doesn't it have to do with leakers????

Only because you took a conversation that you weren’t even a part of personal 🤷‍♂️
I don’t rely on the behaviour of leakers, but I unfortunately have to take it into account because as far as I remember every big updated has been spoiled or at least teased by a leaker.

Note: I didn’t say by you.

Anyway. Nothing has been leaked. And that’s awesome.

And this discussion is pointless.

Maybe I didn’t express myself clearly enough. When I started with GT1, I was 13 or 14 years old and mostly drove cars in GT that were current at the time. For example, I could drive my grandpa's Peugeot 406 or the Audi S4 of a family friend.

With GT7, however, most of the same cars are still there, and instead of introducing modern vehicles available on the market with the updates, I’m getting a Honda from the 80s for the 4th or 5th time.

I don’t have anything against classics in general, but if they keep going in this direction, they might as well call GT8 "GT Historic" or "GT Classic."
To each their own I suppose. Personally, I don't mind the slightly dated car list since there isn't many modern cars that interest me. A lot of modern cars, in my opinion, look and feel the same. Now, the Civic isn't exactly high on my list of choices I would've chosen either, but I'd rather drive that over the 2022 Civic in the game.

When I read your sentence, I thought you were about to say "... die at any moment, so I'll take any leak and not wait too long" 🤣
🤣🤣🤣

I mean it's a possibility but I'd like to think I haven't hit middle age just yet 🤣🤣🤣

Edit: but you could be right on the wait for GTA6 🤣 ⚰️

Just make sure you tune it as such. 205 BHP ;)

@Famine put the message of maintenance in Gran Turismo. Oh wait...
@Famine
While you are at it, let us know when you will be done with the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb track...

Been waiting to use the Suzuki for too long now..
That does remind me..

Exactly what are you doing this week @Famine? You know the drill ;)
