A very young (16) John Bowe in his Elfin 500 F Vee #132 during his 1971, debut racing year in which he won the Tasmanian FV Championship. He went on to become an eight times Champion in four different categories. They included Gold Star Australian Championship for open wheelers (twice), Australian Sports Cars Championship (once), V8 Supercars (once) and Touring Car Masters (four times). He also won the Bathurst 1000 twice (teamed up with Dick Johnson).
