I wonder how much ps5 pro's are running now because I'm thinking of buying one at the beginning of next year. Maybe when I buy and install gt7 again, the game will load faster, it seemed to run slower on my ps4 console which is weird and we have fiber optics internet which the speed should not be affected.
The loading speeds ingame are not related to your internet speed. And indeed loading times are much quicker on PS5, not sure about Pro though. Hope you can get your hands on a PS5 soon.

It's literally just come out, so they're still at the launch price.

Did you not just sell a PS4 and cancel PS Plus for cashflow reasons? Spending seven times more than you got for a new console seems unwise in that context.

Your internet connection is barely relevant to how the game loads. It runs slower on PS4 because the internal architecture of the PS5 is designed for considerably faster loading.

On the social media discussion: They have the news section when you boot up the game that they really should do more with.

Putting the silhouettes there to drum up excitement would be cool, but even just "here's this week's daily races/time trial/weekly challenges!" (which they do have for the GTWS, at least) would be an improvement over what's there now.

If we get the update at the regular time next week, that means people will only have 2 days or so to practice for the TBA Nations race. Has that happened before? It may have, I just don't remember. Or it'll be another fakeout like that dumb oval race...

Loading on the pro is just as fast as it is on the og ps5.👍
Didn't start GT7 yet since I switched to the Pro (since I'm a bit stuck on other games atm 😅) but the Horizon Remaster feels a bit faster. Could be a placebo though 🤔

Also not sure what to do with my OG PS5. Sell or keep.. That's the question 🫠

Gonna go back to GT7 when the Update hits I think and see what they can do. Pretty excited for it tbh..

700 for USA and UK, 800 for EU. And if you play games in physical format, you need to buy and the disk drive. Also the vertical stand comes seperately.
Loading speeds is not related to internet connection speed. Its the disk. Ps4 has an old slow hdd, ps5 and ps5 pro both have a very fast ssd.

@Chris30 I can only reiterate what @Famine has said above - forking out that much cash for something you don't need at this time seems ill-advised. You don't need a PS5 Pro. You don't even need a PS5.

Are you, or is your Mom buying it? The post quoted below suggests it's the latter...
she said that she would get me a ps5 once we get our savings bond cashed in
Does your Mom know the difference between a PS5 and PS5 Pro, and how much they cost? I'd be honest with her and discuss it before making any large purchases like this, not least after what has recently happened with your PS4, and especially given you and your Mom's current situation.

The guy is 33....
... shouldn't he be on his own now ?
I understand there are more grown kids at the parents nowadays around the world due to financial and work shortage situation.... (And that's ok, I am not judging on that).

But if it so, if that is the case, then maybe getting a new console shouldn't be a priority at the moment.... If money is tough for his mom, a PS5Pro isn't going to make it better for her or him.

If he has some medical conditions that forces him to be home (again I am not faulting anyone for being in such ade) but do you really think a PS5Pro is going to enhance his condition in anyway over an existing PS5 he or sheight already have? And don't forget to upgrade to a 4k 120hz 85 inch TV, because that's the only good choice for a PS5Pro.

If he really insists on having that upgrade, then maybe he should go out and work for it, instead of making his mom pay for it.

There is a guy here with an extra PS5, maybe you two should connect....

Poop on me however you want, just IMO.

Edit:
I can easily afford and get the few PS5Pro
Am I gonna run out and get them ?
No
Not worth it.
Is my life going to be better with the PS5 Pro ?
No, not worth it.
I have more fun spending my time here on GTP.
PS5Pro is not the end all be all console.
Not worth making a big deal out of it.

Stop falling for marketing traps that force you to upgrade all the time and keep up with the fake Jones...

Try this method and I guess you'll get everything back. But be sure to delete all of your GT7 data from your PS5 Pro (both installed game data and save data), and don't install GT7 to it before the transfer.

This page is for GT SPORT, but this will also help you.
so none of the replays are saved in the cloud... They have to be transferred from the other PS5 with it on the local network.

Wasn’t that mostly Covid related, with the ps5, and the scalpers, and all the crazy?
More then likely was already planned and it just happened to be in an unfortunate timeline with both Covid happening AND the scalpers situation.

I have trouble understanding the backward support. Consoles come out every 7ish years. GT seems to produce one game a console ish. To gimp that in the name of compatibility translates, in my mind, as getting a lesser game every 7yrs. Not great.

I think there were chip shortages and shipping troubles. It was a hot mess back then. Anyway, i understood it due to the extenuating circumstances of the day. As a permeant policy. Not so much.

with Covid and the supply shortage across the globe, impacting everything.... all corporation have taken the opportunity to cut back something... and it's probably no different for PD and Kaz.

The "new norm" is that they use Covid as a reason, whether they ave caught back up or not, will use that opportunity say things are no longer the same and that they are still "catching back up" by relying on "Shrinkflation"....

whether cutting resources or slowing output down for the same amout of cost....

so expect longer period between release or less content for the same amount of time...

It wouldn't be PD/Kaz, as I believe gtplanet did an article about COVID not hampering GT7 development.
I think what they say and what the reality of the situation is might not always be the same. At the time they couldn't sell consoles because of the shortage. So instead they can sell a game. Now there isn't a shortage and they need to sell consoles, not as much the game.

Hey, GT"Next" began development after GT7 release. Could see the next game on PS5/P if this current console isn't going anywhere for a while.

I'm still baffled by the pricetag, especially here in Japan. I got my PS5 for ~65000 Yen when it was fairly new, and that seemed like a lot of money for a videogame console to me. Years later, the PS5 Pro costs almost twice that, at ~120000 Yen (plus the cost for the disk drive, as you mention).

I think this is an obvious "exclusive" piece of hardware aimed at the more hardcore fans that just want the best of the best.
For Sony it's a way to make more profit plus prepare for the next years of games that without any doubt will demand better GPU hardware.

And they are being very clever about it, the upgrade is subtle but very important in order to stay on par with PCs, and thanks to this i think they are making a healthy profit now that leaves them headroom for lowering the price when they want to raise the sales.

The real push for the 5Pro comes with GTA6 and the other new games that are built from the ground up to take advantage of the new GPU, that will show more than the somewhat vague differences between pro and non pro games we are seeing now.

How so?
Any game that runs on a PS5Pro also has to run on a PS5.

Pro consoles really create more workload on the developers, who know dont focus on optimizing for a single piece of hardware anymore (ideally for two) but instead will just throw out games in the hopes they will work (like they already did).

Example:
a developer that is bad on optimizations
Remnant 1 on PS4 - almost unbearable in certian maps of the game
Remnant 1 on PS4Pro - now it runs fine

Remnant 2 on PS5 (with performance mode) - almost a still picture in some fights
Remnant 2 on PS5Pro (with performance mode) - yeah, it kind off gets into 2 digits framerate
(Did you know there are 2 more quality modes that are definitly slower than performance mode?)

Example 2:
Horizon Chase (old style arcade like racing game)
runs fine on PS4
has lots of crashes on PS4Pro

For all that a Pro console brings to the table, there will always be a few games that will be at the wrong side of the fan when poop comes close.
Just as a small rant about what happens, and I am part of the problem by buying into it.

Don't forget days gone on PS4.
