So for anyone with the disc version of GT7: Is this happening for anyone else?

Been playing nonstop and yet for some reason, it now goes to this when I try to play it.

Edit: Restarted the console and it works now. No idea why that just happened.

And we've got 1 new circuit (not really new) in a year. Still waiting on the endurance races that were promised too.

Yes, same here. Still waiting on those endurance races. But starting to think they will never come. I really don't know why this wasn't in the main game to begin with. In about 4 months the game is 3 years old. Also, only 1 track in 2024. I don't see much tracks coming to the game in the future.

I'm really quite bored with this game. It's only that my VR2 and being able to experience some classic old cars that keeps me interested. I lost a lot of interest over time due to the declining sportsmanship standards and lack of proper penalties for dirty driving.

I'll not give up hope, but I'm not overly optimistic, either :-(

I have this problem.
This is a disc problem. I have small scratch after I dropped this some time ago. It sometimes prevent PS5 from loading the game properly. You could also get „corrupted disc” notification sometimes. Useally restarting, getting the disc out of ps5 and putting it again helps.
Check your game if it has any physical scratches or is it just dirty.

I find it interesting that you have at the most 3 chilis you can choose for difficulty but the game has races that clearly go above that. Also, PD ARE capable of making faster AI but choose not to because they aren't specifically aiming for hardcore sim fans that want that kind of difficulty (Although hilarously, they also have licenses that depending on your skill level are just as punishing at brutal as past license tests so...Maybe you'll enjoy it if you like suffering?)
Have they been like this too since PS1-PS2 era? And for difficulty level, no reason to not put that faster AI in the higher difficulty, like even if the fans don't want hard race they can just lower the difficulty. PD Licenses seem to be brutal for getting gold (and the better prize with that), but I always felt bronze isn't really hard.
They just added five cars though. That's two more than last month's update. Plus, it's cars members here suggested. PD are in a roll for delivering what cars players want(on this website anyway). E36, EG6, JGTC NSX, R31... Been a good year of cars added.
About the choices of cars being added like you listed there, GT would still have an outdated car list so what they add doesn't matter much, it doesn't satisfy what people want of an updated car list, and not a dinosaur one GT employs, like latest GT3.

Well, it's also the monthly/regulary update model. I feel GT7 was very barebones career wise and they try to keep us interested with new content on a regular basis. I have mixed feelings with it. Personally i rather have a full singleplayer experience to begin with and then updates on top but maybe not monthly then. On the other hand are new updates always something to look forward to. But the content itself is.. not disappointing but rather safe and really restricted. 3-4 events and that's it (off course new cars, scapes, menu's.. ).

In the past when I have had issues with discs I gave them a light going over with some car polish. Not super abrasive but enough to clean the disc and remove very light scratches,it might not work for you but Ive had success with this method.Dont go using T Cut or any abrasive polish though.

I just gotta say, I'm amazed that we now have three officially-licensed F1 cars, and arguably some of the most iconic in the sport's history. I had thought that the general idea was that each installment only can have one F1 car, as we saw with GTS and GT6, with GT5 being more of an anomaly since it had both the Ferrari F2007 and the F10. But now we have the McLaren MP4/4, the Honda RA272, and now the Mercedes-Benz W196 R!

In fact, there seems to be a lot of assumptions I had about GT and car licensing that are being broken in the best way, like how we got the Audi RS5 DTM, or the classic WRC cars from Peugeot, Subaru, and Toyota. Not to mention the return of Volvo!

What I would really like are a few more open sports & super cars.
This is great in VR and...then you get to enjoy the exterior sound mix.
I love the Radical and Bac Mono for this.

718 Spyder RS / 488 Pista Spider / 12 Cylindri Spider / 296 GTS / SF90XX Spider

In regards to outdated, majority are, but PD have been adding up to date cars in the R35, GT3 RS, GR Corolla, even Mazda 3 Super Taikyu and such cars no-one saw coming.
Plus, they've been adding nostalgic cars many people have wanted back in the game. So, Kaz has been trying to balance what we get for whatever his reasons are.

I'd love to see updated/current race cars(instead of updated liveries on the same car), I've got nothing of why we don't have a clean sweep of today's race cars.

Honestly, there's so many "outdated" cars which would be an awesome addition to the car list, and so few new ones. I would struggle to name even 10 brand new cars which I would absolutely love to see in the game, but can probably name 100 older cars just off the top of my head.

Looking at the list of real race cars they've added, there seems to be a few categories they are prioritising and that nearly all of them fit neatly into:

  • Modern Super GT/Super Formula cars that they have a good relationship with the promoter (BRZ GT300, SF23s, also the Fraga RC F GT3 if you want to count it)
  • Modern Toyota coming from their good relationship (GR010)
  • Historic race cars that were big name cars in earlier games in the series so have nostalgia (Escudo, Silhouette, GT-One, NSX GT500)
  • Historic F1 cars (MP4/4, RA272, W196)
  • Refreshes of GT3 cars already in the game ('18 GT-R, '20 AMG GT3)
  • Group A rally cars (Celica, Impreza)
  • Pebble Beach winners (AGC53/S)

The only car I can't really fit neatly in a category is the RS5 DTM car. But it's clear there's probably a bit more focus on historic content than there is the cutting edge stuff, it's absolutely undeniable.

Not too sure they've succeeded here... can't say I've ever seen a human randomly drop 15 mph like this.

Jumpscared by my own video. Yeah, this is incredibly frustrating because without this stupid script PD puts on the AI to baby the player, Sophy would be so much fun. Even the regular AI has potential as demonstrated by some of the chili pepper races.

A good point was made that it doesn't really make sense to force these mechanics when the player is choosing the highest difficulty possible. And by force, I mean literally. It cannot be turned off even in Custom races because it's a separate thing from Boost.
