I honestly liked music rally from a gameplay stand point and was looking forward to it back when GT7 was in development. My main disappointment in it was how underutilized it was. I thought it would be used as a special event like the Sierra Time Rally was in GT6, it felt like an evolution of that. But then PD did barely anything with it.

You dont need to as back as gt5 and 6. GTsport had better events than gt7. I still have fond memories of nostalgia 79 in le mans, the endurance race in mount panorama and f1500 in brands hatch.
I bet if PD would release an update with no cars and consisting only of copy-pasted gtsport events, people would love it.
Would love such update!

I'd personally prefer to see something like that as potential regulations for the Daily Races. Or at least more Sport Mode events that are meant to mimic events from World Circuits, with necessary regulations such as enforced limits on PP and tire compounds.

EDIT: Also, as an aside, I'm very sure the Mercedes-Benz 190 E Evo II comes solely in one color: black. But out of curiosity, what other Mercedes-Benz (and/or AMG) colors do you think it looks good in? I especially think it could look good in a matte or gloss paint, rather than a metallic one.

It's a free demo for new people to sample the main game. That's the point
Episode 2 Whatever GIF

So is the Jimny officially the 2024 Main Character Car of Gran Turismo?

We got two of them, they got a dedicated race series in an era when one-makes generally only get limited time events, said race series was one of the featured events for the one new track we got this year, and now one has even made the exclusive cut into the demo. In short, it's been everywhere.

Either someone at PD really likes it, or Suzuki got extremely favourable licensing terms, one of the two.

The music rally stuff ticks that Sony box for the main game of being something the player can do through the install in the background, the point to point with music is just some creative embellishment.

In MFGT they just made it part of the overall structure it appears.

It was always I believe intended to be a mini/loading game and not something to pitch as a core feature more a "while you wait" thing.

Even Morizo owns one. ;)

I thought I would ask this here as starting a thread seems a bit asinine. I used to be a frequent player and contributor on this forum but in April 2023, physics update 1.31 was a massive change and I could no longer be competitive (Middle A skill reference) using a controller and my preferred method of D-Pad and X/Box like it's still 1998. So I took a hiatus blasting away at other dad's on Fortnite (young uns have decided it is no longer cool) but I miss racing ang got myself a Xmas present consisting of a Titan cockpit, 8nm DD Pro Base, the 30 inch wheel and load cell pedals.

So my question, has the physics been updated since then and if so what do they feel like? The change was weird, the rear became very loose, a heavy increase in lift oversteer, weird understeer and generally just awkward cars to drive. I usually drove Group 2/3/4 for the most part. I also remember TC was suddenly needed on all cars (pre-change i could drive the Group 3 Supra with TC for example) but they fixed TC to some degree as it was far more intrusive before the change.

Also anything else new I should know before I jump online December 26? I'd do a search for all this but TBH this is the single slowest web site I have been to since the early 2000's, just glacial. Thanks

Weird. It's the fastest site I go to, and usually so reliably up that any slowness or drops is usually a sign that my connection is about to fall over...
That's REALLY odd. This is a great place but it is relentlessly the slowest site I go to and has been for what, 3 or 4 years. Hmmmmmm I wonder what it is? Takes 5 to 7 seconds to load a page.

Honestly, just drive and learn how it handles, we all get too caught up in stuff rather than just learn it. The physics aren't bad or game breaking nor is the penalty system etc etc

Just drive, the physics are fine especially on a wheel. As you drive more the nuances will come out a bit but I've moved to VR and the physics are absolutely fine race wise.

Edit:

And for all the bitching and moaning the guys at the front seem to still be faster, so adapt or learn seems to be the logical approach. Going from a pad to a wheel with no previous wheel experience will be "fun" but ignore ratings, gold a few circuit experiences and go from the back for a few races (ignore DR) and get those feet dialed in. The wheel is the marketing bit it's the fidelity on the pedals that is the game changer ;)
