I'd say it most certainly is.Maybe the best part of the new update!!!!
They're no longer a sponsor of the GTWS I believe, and I think folks were speculating that the licence may have expired. If that's the case then it looks like we're back to the old tyre textures. Hopefully if this is the case, they'll make a substitute in an update or for GT8 which looks more like a real tyre manufacturer....What happened to the Michelin tires?

And even the Jimny Sierra's not wearing those, despite it did in the past (including today).

From memory, the lack of Michelin tyres was highlighted for images from a previous update as well but the tyres are still in game today so it’s maybe just the same here, but I guess we’ll find out tomorrow...What happened to the Michelin tires?

To be fair, I thought about you and your custom career as soon as I read the news.I just spent two years on a career and released it days before Sophy got added to custom race...
I'm hyped, but god I could not have finished it at a worse time lmao. That said it can just be a change to the quick start guide or something mentioning that Sophy can be used.
I hope they changed the throttle issue though. If it's not changed now, along with the tyre bug, it never will be I don't think,
Ha, thanks. After reflection it's an exciting time because it will bring more folks into custom race, the update, and if they want there's a big old career waiting for them. The changes I may need to make even on the maximum scale aren't very big, just a bit time consuming. I hope the AI throttle thing is changed and the tyres are fixed (if they weren't just cosmetically bugged previously). To be fair, I thought about you and your custom career as soon as I read the news.
I think there have been engine tickets in the pastHave prize tickets for completing menu books ever been a parts ticket?
I see, let‘s hope there will only be tickets with actual prize money for this new Suzuki menu book then lolI think there have been engine tickets in the past
What’s exactly the difference between the normal AI, Sophy and Sophy 2.1?
It is the devs' job but this is a really good step forward hopefully for custom races. The entire main campaign, and the post-launch races should've been starting grid/close rolling starts. Let's hope for GT8 they do that - in the meantime this is great for offline longevity with more enjoyable battles and faster opponents.I can't wait for Sophy 2.1 to deliver us racing of comparable quality to that of racing Vs humans and the usual crowd declaring
"wE shoUlDn't HavE tO mAKe OuR oWN RacEs, ThAt's tHe DEvs' JoB!"
Maybe the best part of the new update!!!!
But where are Custom Championships?
I totally agree. Custom races are probably the best competitive feature in the game, but I believe the public has been hoodwinked into thinking otherwise because of some unfortunate buggy aspects. I think the custom career you've built really shows a lot of the potential, and this updated Sophy hopefully will leave it rounded off nicely. Fingers crossed. It is the devs' job but this is a really good step forward hopefully for custom races. That said, we're in this situation where the main campaign isn't much fun - it's easy to jump into a custom race with any car and now against Sophy. Unless you prefer the structure of a campaign, no reason not to give it a go at least. You'll probably realise you enjoy custom races a lot more because there is actual racing.
It can't be called "chase the rabbit" if we start maximum 5 seconds behind. Some or many events in GT7 are mostly/almost ruined because we start 20-40 seconds behind!!! In GT3-4-5-6 it was mostly 5 seconds perhaps 10 in some/many GT6 events. The "chase the rabbit" has been around since the very first GT, albeit there was a time you could qualify for the single player races ( think GT2) but that was eliminated in the next version.
Michelin is officially gone now then. From memory, the lack of Michelin tyres was highlighted for images from a previous update as well but the tyres are still in game today so it’s maybe just the same here, but I guess we’ll find out tomorrow
Don't be a fanboy only (if you want a better GT). New Championships or the abilty of custom championships isn't sample of ingratitude....I am happy for all those updates but there are more to done to become a very good GT game.. with my opinion...Really?
They've made a HUGE addition 3 YEARS into the game's life, and you respond with that?
Some people don't deserve to get this update 🙄
As for me, this is AMAZING!!! If this lives up to the promise, I am going to build a TON of custom race set ups.
