If we're talking about the ability to spend real money for in game money, then this would make a little sense.
To be honest, I was mostly being sarcastic. There are no doubt some people convinced that it was endless complaint that got it changed, but then there's people that are convinced everything bad about the game is to drive people to MTX's. Bottom line, unless PD say why they waited, it's only going to be supposition anyway.

The Veryon has WR5 as a ticket. I won that one a while back. Not all cars have WR4, some cars don't even have weight reduction at all. Every car is different.
Thats what i said, not all cars have WR4,if i remember rightly, among others, the Delta Integrale only goes up to 3.

I have zero interest in all these bizaro, cRaZy, wild and whacky swaps that I guess people think are cool? Like sticking Ferrari V8s into an FRS 🤦‍♂️
Fair enough if they're not you're thing, but doing that kind of thing is a high profile part of the car tuning scene... enough so that people enjoy seeing such cars getting thrown up Lord March's driveway...

Unpopular opinion: I don't give AF about engine swaps (or anything else in this update)
Give us a new Gr.3 car or two and a new track (cough Sebring cough)
Edit: oh yeah, and converting street cars to race cars.
A street car is turned into a race car / track car / time attack car when racing tyres are fitted to it. Although no one seems to realise it 😂. I know what you're saying though.

What about the turns?
Just like reality-
You can swap a high hp motor into a small lightweight car, it will go fast on the 'strip",
But
That Ferrari is gonna handle on the turns, track etc., but the swapped vehicles only have high speed.
Most of the high hp swaps on these tiny cars with 14-16 stock wheels, yes i agree are unrealistic a bit, but dont handle for ----.

Now take something with some tire, like the m3, or pantera, that could actually use some more power, and those swaps are not !! As famine puts it-

they are much more driveable and realistic.

Almost useless in sport, purely for fun in singleplayer, and public lobbies.

..and Why not put a computer in a classic vehicle, enjoying modern-day performance and fuel economy. Irl Truck is done and working on a second for my Camaro.
not unrealistic at ll, you just need to get out more friend. :) We have an annual event called the adelaide motorsport festival, kind of a mini goodwood here in adelaide... at the last couple of events they have run time attack cars against bona fide 90's F1 v10 monsters - the time attack cars were modiifed skylines and rex and stuff with 1000+ hp and massive wings, aero, downforce, etc... and they ate up the F1 cars head to head on the track... so not unrealistic, it is real, it happens, people modify cars and put enough oney into a chassis with power, aero and no restrictions and they will easily beat upp on purpose built race-cars that have to be built to strict rules and guidelines...

Fair enough but some of these cars I just don’t see being able to actually handle 250mph+ but who knows.

I see Abarth’s popping wheelies, smoking the tires, dragging the rear bumper down the straight for a couple football fields. no tire blowouts and somehow they manage to actually steer the car? I understand it’s a video game and can’t be 100% realistic, just certain things bug me. Just like in call of duty, somebody can hop and jump repeatedly and quick scope and they never get tired let alone the fact that the kickback of a .50 cal sniper rifle would be knocking them on their back while they fire it mid air… would they even be able to jump holding the rifle and that many times?

It is what it is, I guess I just saw even more tuning and thought that was a bit crazy and would I assumed we’d be seeing more tracks and other content vs more tuning. I guess I’m just not one for tuning to the extreme.

So question for all the pros here.... Should I stop waiting PD to fix custom races? I have been waiting a fix over a year now but it looks like they have forgot that their game even has this mode 😄

What is wrong with the custom races?

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 Will Add Buyable Engine Swaps and Special Parts in Update 1.34

In addition to the new car content coming in Gran Turismo 7’s 1.34 update Polyphony Digital will unlock new tuning abilities that have previously been restricted to chance occurrences, with engine swaps and special parts becoming available to purchase directly...

With the Group A Extra Menu being added, you can actually tell they're adding some questionable models mainly for the sake of completing a themed trio for these Cafe Menus. This 1990 Nismo R32 that's coming fits perfectly along with the M3 and the Sierra.

However, based on this theory, it could also come as good news, because now, the JGTC NSX is making more and more sense to return if you think about it. The Supra and the R34 are likely waiting for the NSX to complete a JGTC themed trio for the Cafe.

Crybabies be like:
PD fix physics! This is unplayable
PD bring back day one psysics this is unplayable
PD we want gr3 car!
Only one one gr3 car? Why did you even botter
PD we want buyable engine and parts!
PD adds buyable engine and parts
Yes but....why...why there arent new gr3 cars, fix physics, adds tracks what do you do whole day

Game is not perfect for sure but come on, if you don't enjoy it take a break play something else is that simple.

The engine swaps and ultimate parts thankfully save this update from being a dud.

Finally! I was hoping they would include those features, this update is now rated a C+/B- instead of the initial D+ rating I gave it. All they need to do now is make the car invitations purchasable for lvl 50 car collectors same as they did the engines.

100% in agreement. If not for this, this updated would've been another E tier at best. The engine swaps and special parts finally not being tied to RNG that would take you years down the line of playing the game every day to obtain is a godsend.

The fact they weren't buyable in the first place was bonkers bad in the first place, but hey, better late than never, and they finally gave a reason to reach level 50... After over 1 year lol. Hopefully they change the ticket drops to only gives 4* or above tickets for everyone who reaches level 50 alongside a higher percentage to get 5* and 6* tickets.

This update also killed any ticket below 5*. Since the rewards people want are the parts and swaps and to a lesser extention, the invitations, and also large amounts of credits.
Unofrtunately, only a 5* ticket gives rewards of 100k as a minimum credit prize, as well as swaps and special parts and invitations, which is not a bad reward for driving around ~40km in the game. The 4* still gives, way too regularly, rewards of 10k, which is basically nothing really.

This will also save some people the hassle of just loging into the game, drive the 40km practice session to get a chance at a ticket to reward you these unobtainable parts.
It will definitely do it for me. :)

/Do you think a replacement engine for the 787B will ever be made available, what is the reason for not being able to replace a worn out one?
I doubt it. For most of the race cars, PD saw fit to not make a new engine or a new body available. Why I don't know.
Weight reduction 5? the weight Reduction 4 is only available after a ticket roulette, so...

Man the weight Reduction, car invitation and engine swaps are conditioned with that roulette. What a pain in the neck, PD needs to do something about that.
Weight Reduction 4 is for some of the more expensive road cars, and is purchasable. I don't have my spreadsheet open at the moment, but if memory serves, those cars, and only those cars, were capable of getting WR 5. In ticket form, WR5 bypasses the need to buy stages 1-4 in order.
With all those tunning options - Now i must buy 4 cars from every model!😅
I'm actually expecting to sell a bunch of cars when I get home next week because I won't need to differentiate between the cars I tuned (mostly "can tune", really) to the max just on parts that can be bought right now and the cars that can be tuned with "S" parts, especially those that can only take the S parts that can be removed.
It was only a matter of time, perhaps the infamous Porsche swap for the beetle will also now be available if it isn't already.
Given the mechanics of the engine swap purchase, I think that the Porsche M96/76 (the 997 GT3 engine) swap into the VW 1200 is officially dead and officially replaced with the M97/80 swap the 1200 shares with the Sambabus.

Only some these cars have WR5 available. No car with only WR3 has a WR5 available (for obvious reasons).

And yes, this is going to give me extra work on the spreadsheet since I'll have to add these new parts alongside the engine swaps.

In the older versions of the game, there were a good handful of street cars that you could convert into race cars. It was a whole process that the car underwent and the results were a very different car in the end.
Using that logic, I can convert a Gr3 car to a street car by putting comfort soft tires on it. ;)

We’ve gotten new Gr.3 cars in most of the recent updates. I want to see new Gr.4 or Gr.2 cars before we get anything else in the GT3 scene.

Really hoping we get the rest of the recent DTM grid to play with the Audi.

But anyways about this update, really looking forward to seeing these mental tunes becoming common place in the game’s meta. Good move by PD to backpedal on locking away this feature.

Yeah I remember the LM cars, it would be nice if you could convert them so you get racing seats, dash, stripped interior ect.

You maybe could if you put on everything needed to make it road legal yes, just like someone did with a Vulcan once for example, but surely tyres are the most important factor for if or not a car if road legal. The tyres affect everything else.

But anyway my point was that a fully tuned car on racing tyres is nothing like a street car you would see on the road performance wise.
