My 1980s Group A grid just got sweeter. Not only do I get to add the GTS-R, I get to kill two birds by adding the 240…. as an estate no doubt!
Also, can’t wait for the Volvo to get a V8 swap at some point.

Predicted the EG as a bonus. It’s going to be so cool to create an accurate JTCC model. Now, just need a fwd sedan(cough Primera) to compliment it.

I’d prefer the classic 5.0 swap, but any V8 would do.

Not for nothing, but this article from 2019 has a 1993 model wagon in it. I’m sure PD could have sourced one anywhere in the world, but interesting it’s Hagerty.

Transmission choices for the car included four and five-speed manuals (1987-onwards for the latter), as well as three and four-speed automatics. Stick-equipped cars are much livelier than their auto brethren, especially in turbo form.

Considering the silhouettes, I bet we’ll get at least three new events. Specifically, a new round of the WTC 800, as well as one for events that are generally for European and Japanese cars. I don’t see the R31 being eligible for the Nissan GT-R Cup, but I think that’s obvious enough. There could also be more events that may not necessarily correlate to the new cars, as well.

For a new Extra Menu, I bet that there could be one for all three JGTC-era GT500 racers. I’d definitely be down for a new Bonus Menu, too, but I’m unsure of what motif it could have. Maybe we could see the return of the Type R Meeting?

Given that its fellow JGTC compatriots (Castrol Supra and Pennzoil GTR) are on Gr.3, yeah its certain that its going to be Gr.3.

Also I'm hyped for this update as now I can start working on my JGTC grid. Had to wait for the NSX to come and now here we are.

Personally, I would have liked an EF Civic hatchback.
Great to have Volvo added. Hopefully the BTCC and 850R show up. Those are probably far more desirable to many people.

If that's the case, it'll also mean a slight model change from the old one. Prevously we had the '88 240 GLT but the GLT trim level disappeared after 1990 so either it'll be something else, or they've just used a '93 for the modelling as it's the exact same car with some decal and interior material changes. The only difference is the rear hatch window which changed in 1990 so interesting to see if they got that right.

Definitely. Previous JGTC cars were also Gr. 3 cars and are close enough to FIA GT2 race cars.

JGTC cars from at least 2003 and later were much faster, and thus, are those you can expect to be in Gr. 2.

No. Geely, Lotus, and Volvo are all owned by ZGH (as are LTI, Lynk&Co, and Polestar).

No. Licensing is under the purview of PR and marketing, which each brand manages for themselves. The only company that operates the way you suggest is Stellantis (and even then, Maserati has its own teams).

The issue with Lotus not being in GT is between PD and Lotus.

JGTC until at least 2002 are Gr. 3 cars, based on their regulations. The NSX we're getting is from 2000, so it's pretty much textbook.

It will be the only car from 2000 to be sold in Hagerty though, as Brand Central sells cars strictly from 2001 and later.

This is Gr3 level engineering, the GT500 cars of the 00s are slower than the current GT3s so the choice is obvious. The NSX won its first GT500 championship in 2000, it's probably this iconic car in DOMExMugen livery
