Huh. Still digging in the wrong direction.

It's a compact crossover SUV, related to the Kia EV6 GT (with the facelifted model of that car using the 5N's motors) and the upcoming Genesis GV60 Magma. The car is based on the Ioniq 5, having been redeveloped by Hyundai N into a performance car - and so successfully that Lamborghini was recently spotted benchmarking it.

You could, of course, haul groceries in anything, so I'm not totally sure why you're using this as some kind of negative feature, but the 5N is designed as a performance car for fun and track use. Reviews of the car from enthusiast sites - like the three I just linked for you and you obviously didn't bother to read before hammering "Post Reply" again with a picture I uploaded this morning like I've never seen it - praise the car as being the first EV for car enthusiasts.

The physics changes sound interesting, I always thought the wet transition was great, but a bit too skid pan when fully saturated particulalry for cars that have some weight.

So yeah what is wrong with PD, putting grocery haulers like Austin Mini Cooper, Renault R5 Turbo, Volvo 240, VW Beetle, Toyota GR Yaris, Toyota GR Corolla, Ford Focus ST, Autobianchi A112, VW Golf GTI, Lancia Delta Integrale, Mazda 3, and all these other lame cars in their game, people hate these, don’t they know??
These kind of cars have nothing to do with the philosophy of the GT Franchise!

Anything can be used to get groceries if you're creative enough. Yes, even the F1 car.

Plus what sort of stuff are you taking to think some mom would buy an Ioniq 5N over the regular Ioniq 5(which you seem to confuse it for)? Or a performance-trim Civic over say, whatever the lesser, non-performance trim of it? The C-HR, maybe, but that thing didn't do all that well sales-wise and from where I'm at, those are very rare too. Plus the C-HR did had a race version that raced at the 'Ring and even a rally version that raced in the APRC. Not your average """mom car""" isn't it?

I haven't tried the new update yet, still at work. However from some of the comments I'm excited about the new physics.

My little gripe is with the clutch in the Carrera GT. It doesn't seems to be set as a manual and the clutch pedal acts more like a switch.

Anyway, roll on 5:15pm 🥳

As a long time player of the series, I always appreciate an update of features and content, however I really would like to see some tracks come instead of cars next time.

The thing that confuses me a bit about these early-game Toyotas we've been getting is how they've not been current market vehicles, which is what you'd expect from such a venture.

The C-HR isn't the current C-HR. The Hiace isn't the current Hiace. The Alphard was the current Alphard... for about four months before they replaced it mid-2023. The Himedic is current, but it's also, you know, an ambulance. Even the Prius and Aqua from launch are old.

If the main impetus for all of these really is Toyota marketing (rather than PD eccentricity/desire to flesh out Sunday Cup level events), they aren't doing a very good job of putting models people can actually buy out there.

The physics fix alone makes this update worth it. The handling is now more enjoyable and the weird suspension behavior has been fixed. A lot of cars are now so much more enjoyable to drive. Also the highlight of the update for me is the new engine swap for the Evo VIII! Its now a rocket ship that is a dream to drive. As for the new cars, they are ok, not great not terrible, with the F3500 and Civic being pretty good, the Ioniq is meh, and choosing this particular Toyota C-HR variant is a bit of a disappointment for me, as it has pretty sick aero kit, and a lackluster engine and cvt.

Toyota C-HR got me thinking. At first, I was going to be upset about adding a car like this but then I thought: "Well, it'd be a perfect starter car in Gran Turismo 8 if PD is going to reintroduce a proper career mode in this game". So it may be pretty much useless in GT7 at this point (in stock form, that is) but I hope Kaz will have some purpose for it in the next game... heck, maybe there will be even purpose for Toyota HiAce Van and Ambulance too (other than "role-playing" in multiplayer mode)

Honda Civic is a similar case, although I enjoy this car as it is. Light, nimble, and with well-positioned camera in the cockpit (a rare occurrence in GT7, sadly). I'd like to have more Japanese retro hot hatches in this game

Yup, exactly this.
The only way to mitigate it was to increase ride height as well as increasing natural frequency on both axles, at least that's what I used to do.
And it worked like a charm.

Yeah, me too. I use that section of track as a good test of suspension setup during tuning.

The F3500A is one of the best vehicles to be added to this game. Aside from it's on track behaviour, which is loads of fun, it's customization options allows for it to portray a veritable FLEET of formula 1 cars. It alone is like adding a who's who if 90's F1 cars, without the pesky drawback of having to balance them all.

Granted, the Toyota and Hyundai additions are not my cup of tea, but the Civic is pure throwback to earlier GT's and, as we all know, driving a slow car fast is more fun than driving a fast car slow.

Typical. Were YOU there in the 80's? I don't think so. The Civic was revelation as a hot hatch because it was a functional car while at the same time being boatloads of fun on a twisty road. Then, add some up-spec gear ad it's a killer track car as well.

Also, if this is "sub standard" don't play it. I'm curious, is "pilot625" also your gamertag? Because I'm in the dailies with the decidedly high standard drivers of this game, and your name doesn't ring a bell. 🤔

Love all the cars. It was wild driving the CH-R right after the F1 car, and even more so driving the 5N after the Civic. The 5N is clearly so much faster but boy is it heavy. Foot buried in the brake pedal into T1 at Interlagos feeling all that weight. I think the game simulates that aspect of many cars so well. Also pretty cool that a good chunk of the infotainment screen shows the actual data (like pedal travel).

The customization options for the F1 car are great too, can go from Benetton-style to Ferrari style and something in-between. Gonna try my hand at some liveries.

And finally, I feel like some people here would be livid if they started playing Gran Turismo (1) and had to drive Civics, Miatas and the like. I'm glad you people can afford all the cool cars huh. Just remember different cars had very different perceptions around the globe, especially Americans who call everything a ******* unless it has three thousand horsepower.

Regarding the arguments whether the EF Civic is/was regarded as lame or not, I think it's relative depending on where you're from. In Japan the car model is (among more modern Civic models) used by Kanjo street racers who race on Osaka's "Kanjo Loop". So Japanese car enthusiasts will have different associations of this car than Americans. I certainly think it's cool.

Some of the EF's modification options are identical to what you might see on kanjo racers, such as the front badge removal, flipped up rear plate, rear wing etc. The styling cues of the Civic Type R (EK) Touring Car is also a reference to Kanjo racers, including the window net among other things.

What's the matter? you didn't get what you wanted so you have to make insults about what we got? well for your info I do like what we got. Hot Hatches are a cool nifty thing and as for the "fake" F1, be happy we got that because getting license to have a real F1 in GT7 is a big issue when most of the F1 builders do not want some of their secrets on body aero revealed....

Very disappointed by the C-HR. Not because it's a pointless plastic SUV. I wanted to turn it into a 300hp track monster. But, my guess in a previous post was correct.
-Basic trim level? Check
-Front wheel drive? Check
-Hybrid powertrain which for some reason means we get almost no power upgrades? Check
-CVT that can't be changed? Check

For christ sake. The C-HR could have been a hilarious addition to the game, but no. It's absolute maximum potential, apparently, is 175BHP.

A Toyota C-HR with hundreds of thousands of credits thrown into it is now equal to... a 1997 Civic. Doesn't really deserve the crazy wings and splitters, does it?
