On the GT3 and hypercar point: I don't know why PD haven't added successful, winning cars like the 499P or the 963 or the 296 GT3 yet. Maybe they are working on them, maybe they aren't, I have zero way of knowing.

But beyond those, I think @Nielsen is right when he says PD currently like adding cars that have stories to tell. And cars like the BMW M Hybrid or the Lambo SC63 or the new Mustang GT3 have no story yet, they've done nothing interesting except show up and be current. So I genuinely think PD have no interest in them currently until they win something or do something interesting.
They likely haven't added them for the same reason the other cars you listed haven't been added. They're all quite fairly recent racing cars that other games like iRacing & LeMans Ultimate secured rights to first. Then, there's Forza building out its Hypercar roster with them as well, so there's a possibility they've also been getting some time securing them ahead of PD.

I doubt PD is taking any "story" into account with them by not including them & more so, licensing agreements & PD's investment in heavy attention to detail modeling before then deciding where they'll fit into PD's release schedule.

In all fairness, I had anticipated the exact same thing would hold true for the GT-One and Castrol NSX, until both appeared in otherwise completely humdrum updates last year.

Who knows, maybe we'll see the R390 show up this year. And then in black as a Special Pick. :sly:
Wasn’t the castrol nsx in the datamine list though?

The Z4 should be available in Brand Central
“Ah, yes the Brand Central thing.”

Can I skip this one?

Mostly convinced that we're not getting any more new tracks until GT8 because they're saving them.

Meanwhile, more and more of the GT3/GT4 cars in the game are becoming less and less relevant to what's actually out there racing right now.

I'd really love the 'talked about' feature added to be parts and engine selling. Given they have a credit value, I believe the plan might have been to add sales of these items as a later feature, but the ticket glitch that would have populated a great deal of player's inventory, would be seen as a distortion of an economy designed to encourage microtransactions, and not sit well with Sony.

Oh Gof, the Z4 is a cool addition even though it's not the M, Unimog might just be the most random addition of all time ever since the moon rover in GT6, 205 is cool but that's pretty much it.

Once again it seems like I'll just hop in, play the new update for 2 hours and less and just wait for the next update...

That's why so many of us play Sport Mode.

You could also make a custom race full of F3500's and use the Unimog to try and beat them.

Hmm...I wonder if I can use F3500's in rally stages 🤔
And so many of us don't play Sport Mode due to the fact you put in time and effort into getting "gud", and some maroon comes along in the first corner and ruins your entire race. It gets rather old after a while, and you simply give up.

Rather get "marooned" by a human on lap 1 than an AI back-marker on the final lap!

You clearly have no idea what GT is, have you ever played or at least looked in to one of the games that came before GT7?
Yeah, yeah….Have had this argument on here before. I’m over 50 and have played every GT game since the first day it was release 25+ years ago. There are plenty of regular cars in the game but it’s lacking updated race cars and purpose tracks.

They either need to release GT8 which will hopefully have current day IMSA and the like cars or offer a monthly pay model to incentivize releasing new tracks and race cars for GT7.

Every Monday, for the last 2 years, a new set of 3 races are released. What are they? A GR4 race a GR3 race and a random race. Race cars. Not mom cars and crappy trucks from God knows where.

Yeah, the singleplayer and Sport mode have a massive disconnect. Everyone knows this.

You don't solve that by completely ditching the road car aspect of the game and entirely focusing on race cars. You solve it by ensuring both sides of the fanbase are fulfilled - something PD appears to be struggling with. Otherwise you just end up with GT Sport again, and most people hated that game until they started adding actually interesting cars.

I think the Z4 could be considered an historically significant car in the context of GT because of the slalom tests on Fuji Speedway in GT4. If it wasn't for that, I would have forgotten about it. The Peugeot 205 is historically significant in terms of car culture because it was a smash hit with a famous ad to boot. It has amassed a cult following like a lot of other little Frenchies and is still praised today for it's fantastic handling. The Unimog is the left-of-field choice with an interesting tale to tell as a utility vehicle. So I guess my thinking was sound in my prediction... I just got it wrong😹

So you had this argument before, but why then make the same untrue claims again and again?

Would you take the time and explain what cars of the, let’s say last 4 updates were mom cars?

See, if you are unsatisfied with the lack of race cars being added to the game, that is absolutely legit to me.
But why then exaggerate and talk this stuff about the cars being added that is just silly? There’s just no need for that.
If you played every GT Game since the first day, then I don’t know even what to tell you, you should know better than myself what is wrong with your comments.

I love the updates with the cars. It's fun to drive them. But the events are a bit lacking.

I think it would be super cool if there were 2-3 time challenges for each new car, with different PP points and they would be available for about 1 month (until the next update).

I would also love a rival mode like in Forza.

I would also be very much in favor of a track update. Preferably 3-5 tracks as a package and sell them. I would be happy to pay for it. 😄
