the sweatlords who will keep using the Supra regardless
They might finally switch next year, to the upcoming Toyota/Lexus GT3. That's the one new race car I'm pretty confident will appear in this game, and will of course get a very favourable BoP.

There are quite a few different versions of the 205 GTI '88, wonder which one we will get.

With BOP and splittercam, it's almost immaterial what you're driving in Gr.3
Ah that's where I've been going wrong. As I only use the evil chase cam I can see exactly what outdated/fake race car I'm pretending to drive, as well as those my opponents are driving.

Or I would if I even played the game anymore. Which I don't, so I'm not sure why I even care at this point

Someone has probably asked this by now but what happens if the unimog gets stuck midway down a tracks pit lane?
The Unimog is actually smaller in length and width than the American pickup trucks in the game to prevent that from happening:

CarLengthWidthHeight
Unimog 411 '62363016302280
F-150 Raptor '11 (SuperCab)560321921994
Tundra TRD Pro '19 (CrewMax)581320301930

However, the Unimog is "only" 210mm shorter than the HiMedic (at 2490 mm tall), which may affect things.

I suspect the only reason Sport mode uses the Gr3/4 cars is its easy to BoP them. And again - I agree with Famine, as much as I’d like the McLaren 720s over a Unimog, I’d prefer more variety of different cars than some Gr3 cars. I think I want the Ferrari 499p more than the 296 personally.

A new track would be nice too, but probably wouldn’t be something I want (i.e. Citta di Aria or Pikes Peak)

One of my favorite things about Gran Turismo (and this is really amplified by VR) is finding and tuning the car that your parents had when you were a child or really any car that meant something to you in your childhood and racing it while feeling all the nostalgia.

Same goes for GT1 and GT2 classics.

So I really like all the old cars.

My French grandfather had the 205 in light metallic blue.

Can’t wait to drive it tomorrow.

In VR.

Remember the "engine swap" update? The update where engine swaps became buyable.
If I remember correctly, we only got to know about buyable engine swaps right before the update went live. There was nothing in the trailer about the engine swaps.
So I would pay attention to the patch notes tomorrow. Maybe there is something extra in there related to what jordan video was talking about.
Or maybe there was something coming in this update and it got delayed.

I think the thing with the Unimog is that where would I even race it. It's like the TopGear Special Events in GT5 where all you used the Kubelwagen and Samba Bus was just for that specific race and that's it. It's a quirky, silly car but it'll just sit in a lot of players' garages whilst they grind in their 'samey' Gr.3 car in WTC 800 or whatever the trendy grinding thing is.

Also the fact that they keep bringing back cars we've seen in previous GT games that are more or less kinda just there instead of bringing in new (as in unique) models for their respective brands is kind of absurd and very uninteresting. Imagine a BMW Z1 instead, or even a new model M5 or whatever. Instead we kinda just get something that I personally think is more of a time period piece of older Gran Turismo games than anything that could be actually relevant. I could be wrong though, feel free to dissect my post piece by piece as is tradition here.

Also I feel like people underestimate how much non eSports people want some new racing cars as well. Part of the marketing is the high performance after all.
:D

My parents had an Audi 80 and later an A6 from 1997. Both of them are not in GT7. There are not enough dailies from Germany in the game imo.

The fact that Monaco still isn't added is a bad decision from PD. It's still being used for racing including F1 & was in GT3-GT4-GT5-GT6.
Maybe PD realise it's an awful track to actually race in and decided not to bring it back, not to mention the possible extortionate licensing that is tied to the track itself due to it being tied to f1 probably (it was never called Monaco in those older GT games either, it was cotê de azur)

It’s how I played the original game. As this one is supposedly a return to those roots it’s entirely appropriate, right? These other angles, just like the race cars and Sport mode, are just unwelcome additions and not what the series is about.

They could've saved themselves the trouble of the 499p by making the Ferrari VGT a Gr1 class car, but noooo they classed it as a road car to make theirs look like the best road car in a petty attempt to one up Lamborghini's VGT

Preference is preference! 😂

There's quite a mix even with the esportsers - I've seen splittercam (most popular) pushngocam, and coptercam, but only a few cockpitcams.

One thing I noticed is the different OEM wheel. GT4 to GT6 used this seven-spoke wheel, part #59416:

GT7 appears to be using the 5-spoke wheel, part #59604-5 (front and rear are different parts):

(Source of wheel part numbers)
Different source car perhaps. Really intriguing though considering its from the exact same year and I can't recall there being two specifically different wheels for this car.
PD is the only studio on earth that genuinely thinks this is a selling point for an update
And only you would somehow ignore that the 3 cars ARE the main selling point of the update. Still crying as usual.
Where do we donate organs to in order to get a new track?
Hope you're committed to losing an Organ for a video game. Then again, I've seen massive fights (in the streets mind you) over Pokemon cards so...

So there we have it, the silhouette pic uncovered. Mistaking a Unimog for a Midget was indeed an experience, probably the best trolling in the history of silhouette posts.

Well, at least we have two more cars to run at Tokyo, lol. That should keep me enthralled for about 52min
