we're waiting for the PS4
fishtailrook1 (?)
the way this is going...especially the GT5 wishlist, I think we might as well do a full split into the three major car-markets. the idea I had was like this

1. split the next incarnation into 3 markets...Americas, Europe, and Asia (with Australia and Oceana making it's own decision as to wether it wants the Asian edition...or one to itself)
2. focus the piles of cars, tracks, and soundtrack to the continent(s) in question

anybody like, or do you all think I'm a Major nutcase?

Niether, I just dont like it. I hope I crushed all of your dreams j/k:lol:

No offense, but that will be horrible. I get annoyed when my home market is missing one car, let alone missing out on bunch of cars.

To answer your question- "do [we] all think [you're] a Major nutcase?"
Yes.

The problem is that overall, people will get fewer cars, fewer tracks, and less fun. 👎

Sorry if this comes off harsh, it's nothing personal :)

Doing this would cost PD a great deal.

Many of us Americans would rather not buy GT5, and see that we can not drive cars outside our country, and this goes for all countries as well.

Besides, part of GT is allowing players to drive cars from elsewhere. This is, after all, how the Skyline name became famous in America.

That IS nutty!
Why on earth would I NOT want any Japanese/American/Australian cars????

EDIT: In effect, they kind of do this already! NTSC is somewhat different from PAL, and NTSC/J even has cars the other games don´t (well, at least one; the original Mini)!

Rolls eyes*

what I meant, really, was...i wanna see more AMERICAN cars. mabey a "market emphasis" for the various versions. I can think of several dozen antiques in my OWN wishlist...including 55-57 chevys, Dusenbergs, crosleys...that kind of thing. but the wishlist is so HUGE now, I can't contribute. flocking dialup. i think we're all tired of 6 million japanese cars of the same model with a zillion varients. it's why I thought of a marketing split. guess i must be outa my head. I'll drop this.

Sorry Sniffs, but preferences for american/European/Japanese cars don't necessarily depend on the region a person is from. There are plenty of Japanese people who like american cars, Europeans who like Japanese cars, americans who like European cars, etc...

If PD made a decision like this, it wouldn't be very well-liked. :indiff:

Wolfe: i know, I know...on my previous game save file, I had around 200 japanese...split almost evenly between honda, Nissan, and Mitsu (and i'm not talking Evos...i was crazy for Gallants :P)

Woody: i have all four GT's...3 is only good for goofing off with. if it wasn't for the actual big hair-style song they included *shrugs*

-> I highly don't agree to that (pathetic) idea at all. The reason why I buy GT is to test cars from various markets, in which the more cars in a game the better. If you like restrictions, play a diffrent game like Midnight club or something. :indiff: :indiff:

hate to brake your bust, but midnight club is has licenced tuneups and you can merly adjust everything on a car. so please argumentate only when you really have knowlegde of something..... so indeed go and play NFSU if you're looking for restrictions

I don't recognize these words.

A fellow named Taimar of the GTF/GTX (and one-time GTP member) suggested an up-to-1976 version that included cars of all possiblly-licensed makes/models and older tracks in use up to 1976. It was really a brilliant idea, one that was hatched before the release of GT4 and our knowledge that lots of older cars would make it into GT4, since GT3 was woefully short of cars produced before 1990.

In any case, I'll see if I can find the link one day. I don't like the idea of taking out the Japanese cars, since they make up half the game. Secondly, it would give PD the excuse to release new games every 6 months, creating a cash cow out of GT fans like us.

A Caprice 9C1 police package
Lincoln Mark eight
mark 2 Continental
a REAL monte Carlo (why PD and KY never licenced a monty, I'll never know)
or the likes of (get ready to laugh your asses off) a super EDSEL!!!
