Gran Turismo Sport 1.40 Update Now Available: Sardegna Road Course and New Cars

Usually games are released complete, updated for free, and then you can pay for DLC which are significant extensions of the game.

GTsport was released uncomplete. Every update is a completing part of the partial content that you purchased at the begining.
Why would we have to pay for the updates ?
If you buy a house and start living in it before it's finished, are you gonna pay everytime workers add a door, a window, paint a wall etc? No.

---
I tried the Gr1 race on sadegna A. Overall I don't really like the track because there is no room around the track itself. It feels like a city track or like alsace.

It's a pity because the corners are nice, the flow is ok and the scenery is nice but the lack off gravel pit, grass etc makes it completely unforgivable when driving with damage ON.
When GT Sport was released years ago, it was a whole lot scrimped compared to GT5 and GT6 during the respective times in which they were released.

In what way did GT Sport launch “incomplete”?

Campaign, Sport Mode, Custom Races, Open Lobby, Scapes, and the Livery Editor were all there.

The amount of content was very small, but does that make it incomplete? The selection of race cars that make up the headline classes (Gr. 4/3/B/1) were all there, and in fact to this day has been relatively unexpanded upon since launch.

Some exciting features have been scrimped, like the dynamic time & weather, the track maker and that the tuning options for cars have become limited, too. These are some of the things that I could recall but I'm sure there's more than that.

When people play GT, they enjoy these features. They have become part of the game, indeed.

I haven’t yet tried out Layout B, but from my time on A and C I feel Sardegna really nails the aesthetic, it’s very believable and fun. It feels like what Alsace should have been (which is a major plus in my books). Alsace feels and looks like a country road street circuit but has no connecting roads and the route doesn’t feel like it’d be a real road, especially with all the heavy banking. Sardegna Road is basically that without the hard-to believe aspects.

I really dig it.

Agree with your comments on Alsace, it is the only road track I really don't like, to me it feels like an arcade race track. I know a lot of people like it but it's just too over the top for me.

The new track is great, has a believable feel to the flow and layout, loving it.

I can understand the reduction in tuning options, but since when was a course maker and dynamic conditions advertised as features for GT Sport? The analogy I quoted was a comparison to a house. GT Sport released with everything is said it would release with (except for maybe the static weather? I don’t recall how that was marketed, but wet tires have been in since the closed beta, not 100% sure), nothing was “missing”. If you buy a house that doesn’t list a back yard as one of its properties and then you get mad when you have no back yard you’re not entitled to get a back yard.

Frankly, the "Incomplete" Complaint is less of a fact and more of once again people expecting this to be another number titled GT title when it was never advertised as such.

Possibly... given that GT Sport is said to be a spin-off of the main series, right?

So, despite that it doesn't have those features that people used to enjoy in GT5 and GT6, then apparently there is nothing missing on it at all.

Don't you like the Ford Mustang O5XR8 ?. It would be nice to have the Ford Falcon but we may have to wait until GT7 I think.

I might come back to this game, because my PS4 & GT Sport game is collecting to much dust in the garage.
I highly doubt PD would have approached DJRTP or DJRTP would have approached PD, to have the car in game. The Mustang is more likely to be in a Forza game.
I concur. They're probably just being realistic in a way.

It would be really nice if we could actually use those trucks for off-road in the game but that's not the point of GT Sport as it is a racing game, after all.
I'm racing the truck in the game. :)

I have not give up i just give it some time to get some more content. This new cars and track won’t keep me busy for long. If i wait another month and we get another 5 cars that would be enough to come back and play a little
5 new cars and 6 new track layouts in a free update arent enough for you?
People these days arent happy with anything. Perhaps racing games are not for you?

Barely. Less than one year ago it wasn't unusual for these updates to average around seven cars on a monthly basis, but right now we're looking at five cars in roughly 60 days. Not being ungrateful though.

I mean the Ford Mustang in the game mate.

You dont say anything about the new tracks, something that we need more than new cars

Courtesy of the next generation GT which is currently being developed at 60fps, I suppose.

I don't know, maybe the fact the game proposes intermediate, rain and snow tyres when there is no track for it ?
Then the fact that PD/kaz themselves said the game was not a fixed final version and they knew from start more or less how many vehicle they wanted to add ?

Obviously they were too rushed to release the whole thing, they also had problems with licensing etc so they were not so sure about the direction it was going to go.

I still find it quite weird to release a game bits by bits because it sounds like bad time investment. The time you spend working on a car/track released at day 1 and at day 700 is the same but people will spend 700 days less driving it. I guess they have their reasons

GT SPORT did not launch with a campaign mode. This rush job was added on later after a huge amount of GT fans found this completely unacceptable and resulted in very low launch sale. Everything else in your list was there though.

Unless you are someone who preorders everything, it was pretty easy to get information about what was in the game and what wasn't.

The game can seem incomplete to an individual, but as a game in itself, it's not incomplete if it launches on the PS4 and can be played. It just is what it is. And what it is is either worth your hard-earned money or it is not.

I, myself, bought it after GT League was published, because I didn't want to spend money on it with the limited single player content. I ended up playing more sport mode and lobby racing than single player and I would still be happy about what I initially got for my 30€.

I'm not really interested in any of the current update's contents, but I'm quite happy about the game being treated with a "game as a service" approach at no additional cost.

Always happy for more muscle cars...and trucks :dopey:

No rain, though? I was hoping it would be coming. I know the leaks didn't necessarily show rain and just showed wet tracks but still.

Hopefully when they add rain to GT Sport (or when GT7 comes out), they take the time to animate rear wipers too. I know, it's trivial, but it's a really tiny touch that they do in Forza that just feels really nice.

Rain wasn't leaked, it was shown in the GT World event.

Man, i have some Forza friends that are legit envy of GT Sport constant free updates, i'm glad we're not in that spot

There is always spot for critiques but still i think this update is very nice, the Clio V6 plus X2019 are so nice and having a track with many layouts rocks!

Gets me excited for July honestly

But what about those cars that don't have rear wipers nor windows?
