Gran Turismo Sport Could (Finally) Get More Wet Weather Tracks

The hard thing is changing among skies because they are very heavy HDR maps and they contribute for lightning cars and tracks,
but dynamic rain is very easy.
Here's the thing: GTS has raytracing baked into the environments. That's the only reason raytracing is even possible - it's pre-rendered in the game and not rendered in real time. Imagine having to render out real-time weather changes with baked-in raytracing, especially with different speeds and durations. It'd bring the PS4 to its knees!

So no, not really that easy. There's a lot they need to take into account. Sure, surface water might be doable and easy, but simulating everything else is the hard bit.

imagine that.... Spa... on a wet track! oh wait...
Bath Spa?

Dynamic or fixed. Wet weather will be a great addition.

How about wet scape locations? I would love to see some of the glorious livery designs and special paint schemes soaked in rain drops. Wet bodywork really made the cars pop on Driveclub and that was with only a basic paint option.

Great news if this is true!

Special kudos if they can finesse some rain conditions into the PSVR headset 👍

Well, it always can be done in many different ways with tips, hacks, exclusions, etc

It doesn't have to be "totally rendered" as the game can consider it like a superpossed layer, excluded for many parameters.

I have confidence on the extra talented PD team for achieving a great result.
I was only pointing that dynamic rain is far easier than dynamic time or dynamic skies in the way GTS is done.

We'll be getting weather tracks? About a year ago we also got a new original circuit and driver customisation. Seems every Golden Week break period gives this game time to release major changes to the game. It happens whenever we are given a lacking update around May to June.

Wouldn't it be amazing if every track got rain? Or hopefully a majority. I don't see why not right? It's not dynamic.

I'm assuming that the delay on rain was due to the courses not being optimized for weather. If that's the case then they'll probably be rolling out individual courses with rain physics both to extend the DLC schedule and to buy them time to re-optimize each course. I could be wrong though, maybe they just flick a switch and all of the courses have rain.

...now about that track. Didn't they mention Deep Forest somewhere long time ago... :)

Just so you don't hope for something big and be disappointed at the end...

The wet weather physics at Northern Isle is so basic like past GT games, and the rain effect on the windshield wasn't even as good as in gt5/6.

I suspect we'll get something much better than in previous titles and the northern isle event given they've spent 1.5 years on this.

On demand, he also confirmed that in the future also rainy weather will catch up. Although currently being discussed within the studio, but apparently will probably decide against a dynamic weather system. Yamauchi explains the tremendous amount of effort that such a feature would bring, as it would not only be a visual effect, but would also dynamically alter surface traction on the surface and set the route on the ideal line, e.g. would have to dry faster. Rather than taking all of these factors into account, he prefers to reproduce the difference between dry and wet conditions as well as possible and believably in the game, but to ignore the dynamic changes.

Good News.

one thing stay on found is conditions climatics of Time for Race the Damages Visuais serious with parts out of place.

This news article is about a week after the initial leak and has no additional information, other rumours such as Silverstone have been posted much quicker. To me that suggests the admins have asked PD if it is ok to post and they have said yes. That's as good as confirmed for the next update imo.

Question is, does wet weather make for more dynamic and unpredictable races? Excited to see the forthcoming FIA event at the Nurburgring to find out who the real rain-masters are.

Not sure why they would need to ask for permission? Are they affiliated in some way?

The site has a good relationship with PD. If @GOTMAXPOWER's assertions are true, I think they're just trying to maintain that relationship by being professional and considerate, hence the request for permission.

Or they've gotten an inside source to anonymously confirm the rumor.
