Im referring to the fact that those who end up unwrapping their copy of GTS on Christmas day likely won't be able to download any patches.

How does the fact that you can download the patch now help those who don't have the game yet?

It's highly likely that a patch for the steering will be released by Christmas so I'm not sure what you mean? Do the servers go down on Christmas day or something?

He's referring to an incident in 2014 in which a group of hackers known as Lizard Squad took down PSN on Christmas Day in 2014, and the services were down until the 29th.

Well if it didn't happen in the years before or since, what are the chances it'll happen again this year? Doesn't sound worth worrying about for me. Sure there's a risk, but there's a risk of any internet connected device being hacked at any point in time, so what can you do?

EDIT: Ah, I see that's the exact point you were making.

Do you know if it's been confirmed you can do events offline such as driving school, missions, etc.? I wouldn't worry about a dis if that's the case then.

I called my GameStop multiple times and no one responded. Hoping for a midnight release so I can download the patches while I go to my morning class tomorrow.
My gamestop is doing a pick-up at 9 event. So in 30 more minutes(eastern time) I'll be able to grab mine! I don't see why your local gamestop wouldn't unless they don't get alot of foot traffic.

Yeah I called one last time and they said 9-9:30 for me. One of the guys that works at mine loves good racing games like PCars and GT. He's been satisfied with the releases this year for the genre.

How are you guys trying anything? I have my copy and since the servers are down I can only do arcade mode, and since the rest of the tracks are level-locked, I can only race on the beta tracks.

Also haven't seen any 1.03 patch.

Not a clue I'm afraid, though as it doesn't allow offline saving I imagine that they would both be online-only.

R3V
Heads up

Once you sign a contract with a manufacturer for the FIA GT series, you can't change it.

That's interesting. I guess it makes sense since they want to encourage brand loyalty, to make the series more interesting. They have been telling us to choose our manufacturer since that trailer came out months ago after all

Do all the brands have Gr. 3 and Gr. 4 cars? Or at least all the brands listed? Because if not it would seem silly to have some manufacturers eligible for more events than others. As far as Gr. 1 is concerned I'll assume they're not involved, for the sake of logic. There's also the fact that they probably won't allow us to swap manufacturer once DLC cars arrive, so that could end up having a lot of unforeseen consequences.

Any footage yet of the mileage exchange?

Good point, I'd like to know what the initial mileage exchange lineup is going to be. I'll probably end up regretting not grinding the beta up to the credit/mileage accumulation limits.

that not fair

Actually, that would be the very definition of fair.

Apologies, but quoting myself here:

With the servers being down for days, it's probably worth mentioning this. When you get the notification that there's no server connection, you have two options.
  • Immediately stop playing, if you value your progress (since the game will still let you take part in any campaign section you may have been in when connection ended).
  • Continue playing, but make sure to not shut down the game until a connection can be re-established. Make use of the PS4's Rest Mode.
While Arcade Mode is available offline, note that none of the unlocks, credits, or mileage will be saved, even locally.

Don't ask me how I know.

:(

lol mine did the exact same thing. Almost done downloading all of the files and updates

You guys wanted to see the mileage exchange. Doesn't look any different from the demo.
